    1) S.F. Obviously can't tell, so I will point out the obvious, the car in my aviator is not a '39/'40...
    2) the car in my avatar was the subject of a full tech article in Hot Rod, and the hood went back after the engine went in...
    Call me a nutter, but I usually take the hood off to drop a motor in too. Maybe S.F. pays someone to install his motors, and is unfamiliar with this step...:D:rolleyes:

    PS: It's actually a '55 Mercury, and if you look closely under Ed Pinks armpit, you can see the hood hinge patiently waiting to receive the hood after the engine swap is completed.
    Back in the fifties, some wild and crazy hot Rodders were actually installing Chrysler hemis because they made their cars go faster, not so much for increased cruise night cred.:eek:

  13. Many of our older members may remember this truck. At first glance it appears to be a '40/'41 p/u but it actually started life as a '37 Sedan! Built by Mr. Ray Nish of Oakland , Ca. it was featured in the August, 1962 Rod & Custom. 07282016.jpg

    I've been slow and steadily working out some of the bugs on my recently acquired sedan. One of the things that has perplexing me is tire size. Please chime in on this thread..

    Since taking this pic I've removed the painted bumpers. I ordered a 3 rib style rear bumper from Alloy Fab and will likely being making a nerf bar set up for the front.

    I have noticed since this thread started Moriarity has gone from a stock Ford flathead radiator to what looks like a Walker radiator.
    How's it working ? I ask because the 365 Cad in my '40 could use a little more cooling in traffic.

    Yeah, my stock radiator was not pressurized, and while my car cooled fine it would puke out the overflow after running at high speed. even though it never ran over 170 degrees. the walker radiator works beautifully. I think i could idle my car all day and it never goes over 170 on the gauge, water pump mounted stock 4 blade fan and no shroud
