Looking to replace the gauges in the 52 this fall. Can you post some gauge set ups? Looking to keep stock holes. My real question is what gauges are you running and are you doing it without the $200 gauge reducer rings? What will fit in the stock holes with slight modification if any? Thanks, Andy

get a trio of stock clock mounts and add them to the top of your dash, then sell the clock delete cover.

I purchased a new set of gauges and installed them in my original cases.

Looking into the same thing for my 51. I got the clock pods and mocked 3 up on top of the dash but it just looked to busy. Im thinking of a Speedo and teach in the two original dash locations with fuel, temp, oil and volts under the dash. I found a guage set that fits the two original openings with all the needed guages, I believe it was cl***ic instruments, but they were almost 800 bucks. Too pricy for me.

I used new vintage gauges made in Detroit. Woodward series 4 3/8 #37205-02 The two gauge set was 389.00 but that was 2012 I bought them online from speedsolutions.net. They also have a matching clock and tach.

Update, I just looked and Speed solutions are no longer around. (that I can find anyway) Looks like summit has the stuff.

Thanks pat. So without any mods you popped out the original then installed the 4 3/8 gauges? No adaptors?

no purchased adapters. I cut the chrome ring off of the new gauges, and removed them from the case that they were in. And pried back the ring of the original gauges very carefuly and them removed the internal parts and fitted the new gauges to the original cases and reused the original ring and gl***. It was a little scary to cut up the new gauges but once I figured that they would fit I went for it. The clock I removed the mechanism from the original case and cut out the back of the case and slid the new unit in from the back , the new clock was a little smaller in diameter so I wrapped it with foam rubber until it was snug. I'll check to see if I have and pics of the process.

Na the only pics that I have are the remnants of what was left when I was done. Don't think they would help much.

I used dolphin gauges and fit them into the stock housings with no additional parts needed. I had to cut the backs out of the housings and used the trim from the originals to fill the gaps. It was pretty straight forward. [IMG]
