Hello everyone, I have found a lot of information about the 64-65 push buttons buy not much about the 1963 transmission out a Chrysler 300 that I put into my 61 Dodge D100.
The parking cable is very much out of adjustment and I need some advice to get it back in line.
Also, does anyone have the schematics if the pushbuttons?
Here is a picture of the custom floor mount I made for it.

I've got a couple of Service Manuals for 1960 Dodge and -I think 1962 Chrysler which have details on adjusting the cables etc on 727's if they are what you are looking for.

Yeah any factory literature would help. You're in Australia? I found one small tidbit on the parking cable I'm going to try tonight.

All I remember was the cable was fully extended in reverse, hope that helps.

  5. As far as I know all of the shifter boxes from '62-'65 are the same. Only the buttons and park levers are different. I used parts from a '63 Dodge, '63 & '64 Chrysler to make mine work. What end seems to be too long? Did the trans end of the park brake cable snap in to the end connected to the park paw? I just did mine a few years ago. But just not remembering an adjustment. Will check tonight and try to report back. Gene.

Everything was "working" just not as nice as it was before I removed the powertrain. I even left the cables attached to the transmission while I was cleaning the engine up and painting it. So, I got underneath, had my lovely assistant hold down on the park lever and adjusted the ferrule in and out, trying it each time until it worked. The park lever still does not sit all the way up but it doesn't drop and the pawl actually engages Park so that's much better than it was. Now I can safely install the driveshaft.
