Just saw the car at the July 4th GoodGuys in Des Moines. Didn't meet the owners, but sending best wishes.

You can be defensive as hell in your hot rod and stuff like this can happen in a blink of an eye.
Gives you that pain in the gut..., terrible indeed, I wish him and the little gals a full recovery.

This is terrible... I'm hoping everyone comes out of this ok. I know Ron put 1000's of miles on that car driving it all over the US. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

I hope they all pull through, terrible thing to happen. my Prayers go out to them. I think about this type of thing every time I get into my chopped and channeled '30 coupe. I think that if I ever get into a bad accident with it , it will be my last, there is just no protection in an open wheeled, hoodless car. the seat belt just keeps you in the car. not much room inside when the eng. gets shoved back.

  17. Oh, man - Ron is a heck of a nice guy - our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family ....

  18. Ron is a solid dude and a friend. Prayers for him and his grand daughters.

For those of you who inquired, the two grand daughters are going to be OK, but Ron is in critical condition. I feel terrible for him and his family.

Not want to off base but why do reporters get the year of our cars wrong. It's a miracle they didn't call it a coupe. Heal quickly.

  20. Man, that's just terrible! Praying for that family.

Please don't be too hard on them, I have been to accidents, and the cars had a mis-stated year on the registration. It doesn't matter till something happens. I knew what year the said vehicle was, but I wasn't going to correct the state patrol officer in charge. The owner had enuff issues without "the Man" bringing up more issues.;). (sometimes coupes are roadsters, and 32's are 34's)

I met him at the Goodguys show in Des Moines earlier this month. I stopped to admire his car and take a few pics. Very sorry to hear about the accident. Prayers for Ron and his granddaughters.
