Okay, so I'm way behind schedule. Here's some show coverage from the first weekend of May. You can see all of the up to date coverage on my blog here. Since 2010 I’ve been attending the Stray Kat 500 in Dewey, OK and loving it. Most of of the great people in my life are in my life due to this show and the people that I’ve met through it. Mickey Bryan and crew put on two of my favorite events each year between the 500 and the Stray Kat Kustoms Starliner in Wichita, KS. There are nearly 400 photos in total coming your way, enjoy them! More to come see you at show, Royboy
The Stray Kat 500 is almost old enough to drive, 15 years folks have been gathering in Dewey, OK and every year it seems more and more show up. Some fear losing the intimacy of the show, but so far it’s been a great example of scaling a show up without losing the magic of the event. This year there were some new additions, the bands that used to be outside in the park have been inside for a couple of years, as well as the Miss Kitty Pinup contest and the Inspiration awards, but more on those in later posts. I missed most of Friday at the show this year. More to come, see you at a show, Royboy
Would like to know more about the 39 Dodge Bussiness coupe Does anyone have the details? Sent from my SM-T805 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
My wife and I rolled through on our way home from Topeka at about 5:30, there were a few cars left but not nearly this many. Wish I could have made it earlier but at least now I can see what I missed! Great work!
If you’ve been following along you’d have a pretty good idea of what I think of the Stray Kat 500, it’s one of the best shows that I hit each year. It was great to see so many new folks come to the show this year. All week I’ve seen social media posts from some of these folks extolling the virtues of the show, our little “secret” is getting out! The midwest has a ton of great cars and a whole bunch of them show up in Dewey for the 500! Enjoy the photos, more to come tomorrow and Saturday! More to come, see you at a show, Royboy
Over the years the Stray Kat 500 has had all sorts of weather, this year it could only be described as perfect. Okay from the photography stand point it could have been better but other than that it was amazing. The small town atmosphere of Dewey was perfect for a show that happened on Mother’s Day weekend. For those that brought the mom in their lives Dewey had them covered with great antique stores. I finally went into the Linger Longer store and had a chocolate shake from their soda fountain, that will be on my to do list next year… and any time I roll through Dewey on the way to Tulsa! Then it was time for Mickey (StrayKatKustoms) to award the Inspiration Award to a couple of nobodies that nobody ever heard of. "I caught a fish this big" McPhail, Starbird and Mickey Some dude named Ryan, I don't know, never heard of him. More to come, see you at a show, Royboy
That's it for the 2016 Stray Kat 500 coverage. This coverage was made possible by Flat Top Bob of Owen's Salvage in Wellington, TX. Thanks again Bob for supporting what I do and helping me spread the word of these great shows. See you at a show, Royboy
