HotRodCh***is made me a plug for the forward oil dipstick hole we don't need. Cool.

All that's left I think on the motor itself is get the missing rocker nut, distributor and make a new timing bracket for the balancer.

    Seeing RED!

    For my ‘36

December 05, with my as yet unknown time bomb 302

After finding out the original 302 was a few thousand miles from shearing the crank, and the second 302 had cracked cylinders, this one is 302 #3, bored .030 over and balanced.

The valve covers are ‘60s Keystones, yes as in the wheel company. I have never seen another pair for a ford (or anything else for that matter) probably because they warped and leaked like a sieve. I made sleeves for that bottom cavity to keep that edge from warping. I also used double thick steel core Fel Pro gaskets. They didn’t leak a drop last year.

Paint is just Duplicolor Ford Red engine paint over Dupont self etching primer.

I was just stunned to see someone use a Ford in a Ford! I also am running a Ford in my Ford and think that`s the way it should be. Its funny that everyone likes Ford bodies but hate their engines! Something about ''too hard to work on, or parts are more expensive'' I call B.S on that! It never fails that when I see something like your valve covers, there either too expensive or anit around no more. Good lookin ride! Sometimes a shame to cover up all the work we put in engine details. Thank`s for the pics!

HotRodCh***is and Kansas came over last night to help out. We got alot done, but still a long way to go. I was a **** and gave Kansas the "I want a hot rod but I've never worked on one so I get to do all the nook and cranny jobs that you don't have any room to work" type jobs. hahahaha. He is a better man for it. ;)

    HotRodCh***is is a whiny ***** so I am getting a Pertronix. Hahahaha.

Dig my "hot rod" timing indicator I made (welds by HotRodCh***is)

Thanks for the help guys. I'll be back at it on Saturday.

Talk to me about your timing indicator.

Mine in my 302 is on the p***enger side, and when #1 is at Top Dead Center, it is on the 0 degree mark.

I dont know what mine actually came off of since I couldnt find the one that came with the engine originally (it sat un-***embled for the better part of two years for me to play Army) and this is what the maching shop gave me thinking "itll fit a Ford".

  27. Nice looking Chad! I dig the rare valve covers.
