Looking at buying a new line bender and I know that there are some out there that have a much tighter and nicer bend, also ones that allow bends close to flares. Also want a new flaring tool. If I remember right you can get kits that do inverted, single flair and A/N flares, does anyone know who makes/sells these? Thanks.

I have a Rigid Tool AN flaring tool. Worked good for me. The Speedway one that I had was difficult to use and broke. I think the Rigid was about $100 from Inline Tube. Probably have local suppliers too.

My bender for larger tubing is the plier type with the round dies that you can change. I also have a 3/16" bender for brake lines that grabs it right by the flare nut for tight bends. It came from the MAC Tool man. NAPA for the flaring kit. Had it all for years.

I got the double lever Imperial benders that are sold by Rigid. They're the nicest I've found. Only real down side is that they're single size, so if you want to do different size tubes, you have to buy multiple benders. And they're not cheap, so cost might be an issue too. For flare tools, the Mastercool hydraulic flare tool is the way to go, but they're about $300 (check thetoolwarehouse.net).

My double flare tool is a K-D and uses an insert to set the first stage. It works weel but doesn't fit in the tool box very well

At our shop we use a bender made by "Imperial" it's called the "little imp".. It is the smallest bender they make, that I know of. There are three different sizes one the one bender - 3 1/16", 1/4", & 5/16" with about a 1" to a 1 1/4" radius. Imperial also makes flaring tools. The nicest one i've seen, belong to a guy that did work for us. It did single 37degree AN flares, and standard double flares all in one nice plastic storage case. Might check out there website.

Agree with most of the others. Rigid for a double flaring tool, they are great, if doing fouble flares, the cheap ones won't cut it!
Imperial Eastman for benders. Both available from McMaster Carr.
