If I'm getting 34 degress at 3000 rpm with vacuum advance off. When I hook up advance running up to 42-44 but not under a load? Does this sound right? Initial is set at 12-13. Sum 1103 cam, stocks 350 8.5-1 comp. brand new crate motor with cam swap. Any thoughts. Thanks

sounds about right. If you get some part throttle pinging, you might see about limiting the vacuum advance travel, or get a can with a stiffer spring. If it doesn't ping, don't worry about it.

Vac*** advance improves mileage and helps the engine run a little cooler. If these things are not important to you, you can do away with it. Kind of depends on how you use your car.

  3. How does it run?

If it runs good and pulls strong forget about the numbers and drive it. If its ****ping on itself then make some changes. Tuning is not about numbers on a page, those numbers are nominal. Tuning is all about making it run well.
