Here are a few pics of the my latest project I just picked up. It's a 1960 Edsel 2 door hardtop. Almost the same as a Ford Starliner, except the freaky tail lights and the grille. I think it will look sweet with some fresh paint and lowered on Astro Supremes with skinny whites. It has a 292 Y-block so it should sound pretty good with dual exhaust. Feel free to photoshop it if you want. I'm also wondering where you can get parts for it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

that think is awesome. I have never seen a 60 edsel. I had no idea they looked so frickin cool. Now its just another car to want.

Those tailights are awesome. It is starliner all the way with just enough weird **** going on to make it an edsel.

Very cool car, and very rare. According to Cars and Parts magazine, only 295 2-door hardtops were made that year and all of them were Rangers. There is a comprehensive article in the Feb. 1998 issue. P.M. me your address, I will send you the magazine. Congratulations on a great find! John

Saw a wagon at Hershey a few years back. Talk about a kick *** longroof!'

    Good luck with it.

Damn this is one sweet ride! I have a '59 Edsel Ranger and I've gotten a bunch of parts on E-Bay. Also chek out Flat-Top here on the HAMB-O-Dex He runs Owens Auto parts and he's helped me out quite a bit.

    Good luck on your project.

  13. That car is TOTALLY you... :)

    It's cool. I like it.

The back makes me think... "Space.... The final frontier...."

Sounds like you've got a good plan for it. When it comes to parts I think -60 Edsels were essentially Fords with a little cosmetic...

  16. Very cool! With only 295 HT's built, just take off the Edsel emblems and tell people it's a custom Starliner!

  17. Really! Just paint it, drop it, and drive it!

  18. That's what I was thinking for the back, just get rid of the back-up lenses and wire up two tailights
    [IMG]
Then up front, remove the eggcrate grills, polish up some 3/8" stainless rod and mke a "tube" grill to match the fine lines in the grill divider, then some 14" lexan, make a quick run though the sandblaster and bolt on some wiper bullets to the headlight centers, and a couple of bullets over the turn signal amber lenses (if you must, put some amber bulbs between the headlights).

Then paint it GM Persian Mist, or Sand...Met. Lavendar., and chunky pearl flake in the roof center.

That's pretty much the plan except for some interior work and shaving the emblems off, and flakin' the roof. I'm pretty stoked. When I brought it home the wife ran outside and said "that's the coolest car you've brought home yet." Thanks for all the kind words.

I can't say that I've ever seen a 60 Edsel and I understand why from the production numbers. Anyway, that's a GREAT lookin' car!

I know where one exactly like that is sitting and looks to have been sitting for a few years, if any one is interested PM me and I'll find out if it's for sale.

You're only 45 minutes away from me, I'd love to come and see this thing some time. If you're looking for '60 Edsel parts, I know where one or two of them were sitting in a local junkyard. Haven't been there in probably 5 years but I bet they're still there. Shoot me a PM if you want the info.

Great looking car, sounds like you have an excellent plan for it. I don't know if I could shave anything off of that car, it's very well proportioned. Nice paint, twice-pipes, and Astros would make an instant custom out of that. I'm jealous already. Where'd you find it?

I love those, and '60 Fords, some of the coolest Ford products ever made.

If it were mine, I wouldn't do any irreversible mods to it, just lower it and give it a nice paint job.

Congrats, that's a cool damn car.

  24. Cool car.
When I saw "Sledsel" I thought Spooky had resurfaced.

Just a thought--maybe you can photoshop it in. How about a couple of French Cibie headlights turned vertically on each side to mirror the tail lights in the back? Combine that with your tube grille, and you could have an exceptionally cohesive, unique looking mild custom.

The plan is to keep it pretty mild since it is such a rare car. I think all that Iwould take off it are the edsel emblems.

Sharp ride, dude. A guy around here used to have a red convertible. The first three times I saw it, I thought it was some obscure Mercury, lmao.

Wish I had a little more time to PS that thing...
