The 50th Anniversary of Rock Around the Clock with Bill Haley’s Original Comets Plus the Queen of Rock-a Billy, Wanda Jackson & The Cadillac Angels
    Sunday, January 18, 2004, 7:30 pm...El Cajon East County Performing Arts Center...$27
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of their first record hit, “Rock Around the Clock,” Bill Haley’s original Comets are touring, performing their 1950’s rock and roll hits that include, “Rock the Joint,” “Crazy, Man Crazy,” and “Rock Around The Clock a**** others. Since 1952, the band has sold over 80 million records and earned a place in The Guinness Book of World Records, for selling 43 million copies of its greatest hit, “Rock Around The Clock.”

At age 65, queen of rockabilly Wanda Jackson is releasing her first studio album in nearly two decades, Heart Trouble. The album “is the work of an artist who has more honky-tonking under her sequined belt than any woman alive and who considers age an ***et,” says the Washington Post. “Heart Trouble is a fabulously cl***y effort by one of the great, grande dames of pop.” The CD also features singers Elvis Costello and the Cramps a**** others.
