Well I got the coupester to the place where I need to wire it. Going to make my harness, but need to find the old style cloth covering to run the wires through. I know it's still made but I can't find it . Any help would be appreciated..Thanks

There's some stuff called "expandable braided sleeving" that comes in a lot of sizes and colors that looks a lot like the old cloth sleeving. I got some for my Plymouth when I wired the headlights, but I can't remember where I got it. It looks like black cloth with a diamond pattern of white threads. It's made of nylon. You push it in from both ends and it swells up to about four times it's original size. It takes a while to thread the wire through it, but it looks nice and old fashioned when you're done. Looks a little like the old cloth covered appliance cords from the '20s and '30s, but it's nylon so it won't rot.
I got that and a LOT of really cool hard-to-find little items at Restoration Specialities: http://www.restorationspecialties.com/
Seems like the minute I put wires in a loom I need to add to it or change it. What was the old hot rod way, electrical tape? Open with ties? Friction tape?
X2 on restoration specialties. Call them. They've forgotten more than most of us will ever know. Adding? Electrical tape or friction tape. Most of the time my Dad just wrapped the new wire around the outside.
Ebay. Asphalt wire loom. Cheap and can get a ton of sizes. Sent from my SM-N900P using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Flat is correct, Asphalt loom it is,I get mine at NAPA by the box. I do cheat a little on the wiring to the rear of the car,I'll use the 7 way cord that NAPA has its listed in their heavy truck catolog,6 -12 0r 14 ga wires and one 10 ga,that does it all, sigs, brakes, electric fuel pump, back up lites and maybe one or two extra.
Yeah the asphalt looks great, too bad it's not slit and self wrapping like the modern disgusting corrugated plastic crap. Speaking of which, while not correct, this would at least be a step above that stuff.
