Depends A LOT where you mount the motor....... 350/700r/HEI.....plenty of room, slammed as much as I want........Pro Stock? If I could have a Pro Stocker in sheeps clothing,I'de be all over it. But- I think my measilly 500hp will do for now. If I really wanted to kick some ***,it would have two snails on it and idle at 800rpm,burn the hides in any gear, and get me in A LOT of trouble.......homework before the test.......

Front stubb ordered from Gambino Customs, should arrive in two weeks.

Back half already arrived with 4-link and prostreet narrowed frame rails, ready to weld to the frame.

Frame work will start getting accomplished in two weeks, once Ive got everything pulled apart.

I will post photos of how everything works out step by step, and photos of the kits as they arrived from Gambino.

Floor from c2cfabrication.com arrived yesterday, one of the four panels ordered already installed. I have photos of the product and the install, for some reason the HAMB isnt allowing me to upload them. So far I am happy with the product for 200 dollars getting me the entire floor of the car shipped to my door out of 18 gauge. Its not OE but I'm not looking to build a 100 point car anyways. Fitment was relatively easy on the first panel. Had to bent and shape the piece into place but after about an hour of hammering away it was ready to go. i replaced the rear drivers side.

    I will add photos soon

A rubber floor covering could be neat, like how most early fords were done from the factory, may have just been the pickups. When dirty just yank and hose off and toss back, pretty industrial.

That's a cool idea. Id like to go with something permanent tho. Id like to put a few drain plugs in the floor as well so if I need to hose it off I can pull the plugs and hose it down

The base of my A pillar is rusted out on both sides. No longer connected to the floor on either side. Looking for help recreating this portion of the car. Any help would be vastly appreciated. Im gonna need to replace from the bottom hinge down of both A pillars.

here's a few pics of the area. this merc had those floors in it. the beads are a bit shallow which allows them to be flimsy. You might want to add a brace or two underneath to stiffen them up.

Ya, that would be a good idea. The factory floor could use some better design for drain run-off tho. The A-pillar bottom is huge catch can. I suggested the vinyl floor mostly for looks too, the diamond plate is a bit tacky and clashes with the dash.

The A-pillars are tricky to do, the sheetmetal in the hinge area is doubled up. My 51 was like what you are saying. Make sure your ch***is is solid then go in and cut/replace.

Those pics above from Matt are super helpful. Good luck

Picks0530 do your self a favor and talk to some one who runs or has run a pro strreet set up, THEY ****, a Mercury is a thing of beauty don't go trying to make it something its not, they were created to cruz the boulevard and look cool in, not make a lot of noise and ride like a frekin tank.............just my 2 cents.

Yep keep her a merc, nothin worse than a merc with a bunch of weird **** done to it.

Those stock suspensions are pretty nice and soft. I ran aerostar front springs for a 3" drop and reverse eye leafs with blocks and it was low and soft. Pointless to notch/ chop/ **** up a good merc ch***is just cuz. Give it a shot, less work anyway. Fetches A LOT more coin in the end and thats the truth

Floor work looks good, keep it goin.

Working on the driver side of the Merc first. Focusing on getting the floor and base of both the A and B pillars solid and inner rocker panel installed on the drivers side before moving on to do the same on the p***enger side.

I agree Matt the floor panels from C2Cfabrication.com have very shallow beads. I am definitely gonna attempt to reinforce them somehow.

Gene Winfield is building me the bottom of my A pillar along with a new inner rocker and inner rear 1/4.

I'll upload photos of the progress soon and both what the rust replacement parts look like from Gene and how much they cost me.

Thanks every one for your advice and help with my build, and for those who dont like the pro street rear end and the 545 cubic inch big block going into the car, I appreciate the advice and your concerns but its happening. I have driven a pro street car and it was a blast.

Anyone have a line on a p***enger door for a 50 mercury coupe?

My drivers side took 23 hours of cutting and welding to get straightened out and rust free. The p***enger side will take even longer.

    Please let me know
