I dropped some fairly serious dough for a Nailhead 6x2 setup a few weeks ago. Got it yesterday. My "Nailhead" 6x2 appears to be for a Pontiac. Oh hell, it's nice, but it don't fit a Buick or Caddy so it's kinda big money tied up in something I don't need.

Fellas, ALWAYS get a picture of what you are buying before you buy it. I f**ked up!

PM me if you think you're interested in it, and if you maybe got anything to trade.

I'll be in the bathroom pukin...

Yeah, bad thing is, some of the guys on here were there and could have eyeballed it for me. I was just too stupid to ask...

The intake fits a Pontiac V8 up to 1960, according to our resident Offy dealer. Anybody got any tradin stock??
Nailhead, Caddy, Studie speed stuff, Ford dropped axle, or ???

This is not meant to dimmish your actions or lessen the experience....:)
But MOST here have done the same thing.......if they were adult enough to admit it. I know I have....bought the wrong part......and I was there....holding it in my hand or looking at it.....

    TRUE STORY......

I bought a NOS 62 Corvette fuel injection unit at the Carlisle flea market. In the crate from GM. I got it back to my swap meet space and looked at it real close. There was no pump. I went back to the seller and asked him about the pump. He told me I was a Dummy...they came NOS without the pump from GM. Then, he told me....if you do not what you are doing at the flea market..... I AM AVAILABLE for 100 dollars a hour consulting fee...

    I walked away....feeling stupid........

Later I sold the FI unit ........as I bought it.
A few minutes after I sold it, the new owner came back and asked about the pump.....I told him.......you dummy...that is the way they come from GM.....If you do not know what you are doing at the swap meet.....I am available ...for consulting...at 100 dollars a hour...

  5. I feel your pain. I bought a distributor at a swap meet for the first small block Ford I ever built. The guy said he had a mallory dual point he would hook me up with for $75. I jumped on it like white on rice. Got home went to put it in and it would not fit. The dude knew I was building it for a car but he went ahead and sold me a Marine distributor.

    Grins,

    Maybe that explains how I bought a 48 Olds "98"...thinking it was 49 "88".
