See lots of great info on subject, maybe some of you can help: running 8BA with 59A pumps, Bubba dizzy, and 97s. GM alternator is 5-1/2" deep X 5-1/2" diameter....about an inch two large both directions, esp in depth, it hits the front carb. Who makes a smaller alt, around 4-1/2" deep and 4-1/2" diam?? Raising the carbs no go, no hood clearance, and really want to keep alt centered, not offset. Also, no go on later pumps, no space. Help! Mopar Alt???

That Chevy Mini Alternator that Phil934 showed is the same one that fits my 92 GEO prism GSI beater http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d...=Search_01468_1441901_4398&pt=01468&ppt=C0330 Those little ****ers charge up a storm and then some.

There are some really stupid-small (3" diameter) permanent magnet lawn tractor alternators that could work. The output is low, only 14-15A, but if you don't have monster headlights, air, and a 10,000 watt amplifier, they could work. There's a similar one for a John Deere that puts out 20A.
Installing one of these on a Chevy 327 , but the pulley looks to wide (1/2"). The stock pulley on the Chevy is 3/8" . Some refer to the pulley that comes with the mini alt is a universal pulley , any one run this configuration ? Does it work ?
Here is a Kabota I put in a 28 Powerhouse. Have it finished now and it runs great, not much amps but I don,t need much
