Ive done brakes, bearings etc. on trucks but somethings amiss this time. 54 1/2 ton front drum brakes. I replaced everything except the drums and spindles. Both side drums are very loose and wobbly when installeddrums seem to be not seated or solid enough to make reliable pad access. nothing appears to be missing. drivers side the outer most bearing race cover wont go far enough up the spindle to lay flush so it sticks out, which makes it even looser. spindles look ok ( no grooves etc. )
so, am I missing a piece somewhere, or ??? ive got inner bearing and race cover, outer bearing and race cover, some washers and covers.

It has ball bearings? Maybe if you can get us some pictures, it's really hard to guess what someone is doing wrong if you can't see anything.

This is what the bearings and hub should look like. It's an earlier brake design, so the brakes won't look quite like this

  4. Drums and hub 1-piece like the p***enger car? If they are, it can only be bearing placement problems. Inner races seated in the right place?
