Hi guys Down here in Victoria Australia we have to use ORIGINAL rails or chassis to get a car on an open licence otherwise the use is highly restricted if they use repo. I have a mate who is now looking for a 32 Chassis or at least a set of rails. He has searched pretty hard down here and we have an add in the wanted section of this site but arent having any luck. Has anyone got any hints for locating these and roughly what they are selling for when they do turn up. Thanks for your help and have a nice day.
If you need original rails, you're in tough shape man. It doesn't make any sense to me, but the availability of aftermarket rails isn't bringing down the price of originals anywhere that I've seen. Had a freind mannage to find a set in Detroit here, paid a fortune for junk if you ask me. I'd say your best bet is to follow ebay and just bite the bulllet on shipping. I don't know if it makes a difference down under, but SoCal gives all of their frames their own serial numbers and tags. I'll keep my eyes open.
I just helped pick up a set of rails for a friend of a buddy. I thought they were pretty bad (slight twist, extra holes, no cross members) but the guy that bought them was glad he had em... He paid 800.00 US. EVILT
My question is, How are the authorities gonna know if the frame is original or new??? You are a hotrodder, age it!

Pete, shouldn't be such an issue now it appears the guidlines have been accepted in Vic!!!! Go repro.... and find an engineer using the new regs.
