Technical Fiberglass front clips?

When did fiberglass front clips start showing up? And we're they typically for willys or were there others in early drag race days?

Johnny Reid did one piece 'glass Willy's fronts in 1962/63. George Montgomery, Fred Hurst, Jim Clinton, several others. First ones I know of.

but where am I gonna come up with 86 bucks, plus freight? on my wages

 

^^^^^x2 that would have been about 3 weeks pay for me

 

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^but still lot more affordable then it would be today. The cost of $90 in 1967 would be about $650 in todays money and yet fiberglass fronts are in the thousands, in these days and times. Bottom line, just way more expensive now days......

 

Have a garage sale and sell some of those 8 track tapes.
