What a beautiful work of art! I admit it's a head-turner, and I would push my way thru' the crowd to get a better look at it
That is an awesome car. Oh to have an ounce of the builders talent. I know it isn't the question to ask but ball park, if you delivered a stock coupe to them and drove away in the finished article how big would your check book need to be?
Sorry didn't mean to offend anyone. It's all about perception of definition. Again sorry. To see the before shots of this car just Blows you away. The amount of work and time has to be tremendous. My hats off to the creative talent. It inspires future generations of hotrodders and customizers.
This car is really an amazing piece of craftsmanship. I had the privilege of speaking with Rob Ida and some of his crew at GNRS. In addition to being some very skilled craftsmen, they couldn't have been any nicer. Rob took the time to show me some of the many incredible details on this car, and it is really a sight to behold. This car is more then meets the eye, and is a very interesting piece of engineering. This is a very inspiring car for me. Much more inspiring then much that has been built as of late.
Hmm...... true, it has a lot more "fluff", than we go for on this site, but as far as the fabrication and dedication it took to build, that's a kick *** ride, No hate from my side of the street.
I noticed the windshield trim too, but with the level of craftsmanship on this car, I can't imagine that they just said "fsck it" when it came to the trim. I don't know what's up there, though. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
WINDSHIELD trim!! Jeez, I was looking at the side windows... I'm gonna chalk it up to a lack of sleep. Maybe they were still finishing the car off when the video was shot?
Beautiful car! Both sides look the same...but there should be small clips that cover the seams. Thanks for posting the clip! Sent from my SCH-I535 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I've seen your work your accomplished in your craft too... I appreciate the many levels of craftsmanship here and your part of it. I'll take up knitting...wait I have some awesome skills too...
Totally belongs on here...Another work of art to behold gracing the stage of the wonderful HAMB...I'd park beside it... Thanks Petejoe http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...genized-hotrods.1002926/page-26#post-11560968
Someone ? Did you bother to watch the video at all ? If you did then you would know who that "someone" is. Rob Ida and his team.
Admire the talent/execution that went into this build, a great example of the high level of quality in our Hobby today. It is a beautiful Kustom and I like the diversity on the HAMB, threads like this keep me coming back regularly to check it out, I like all cars from hard core traditional to modern Muscle and this site is the best on the net IMO.
Like any presentation, that was a still shot from the build process. There's a roll of black electrical tape in that view as well, some closer inspection shows that it's incomplete. I saw this car at Amelia Island. Very well done, easy to "monday morning quarterback" it somewhat which anyone can do to anything. Overall it's quite stunning.
I saw the car at SEMA, and it is absolutely beautiful. Two items just jumped out at me though. There's a slight warp in the sheet metal on the right rear panel behind the side gl***, and the molding around the side windows looks very flat and modern. Rob said there were 9000 hours in construction. I believe it. It's a work of art.
Beautiful car, I love it! but It does remind me of a snobbish cartoon character that could have been in the movie CARS.
The workmanship overall and the fabrication are top notch. The amount of hours is just insane. But at the end of the day, I really can't say that I care for the car overall. There is just something about the "Whole" that kind of leaves me cold. I don't care for the way it "Flows". The side window treatment, especially with the large pieces of flat trim, just don't look right. I don't care for the hood openings - they look out of place to me. the Grille Guard is out of place, overdone. I don't know, it just doesn't do it for me. And the motor, again the fab and machine work is insane - but all that to take a mod Motor and try and make people think it's and Ardun (is anyone really fooled), and then use that modern billet looking blower, it's trying to serve too many masters. I looked at it last year at SEMA for quite a while in the morning before opening and it just never did knock my socks off. Different strokes for different folks
