Well... It's been just over a year since I drug this damn thing home. Quick recap. Last spring during the tear down. Last summer before I started driving it. Two weeks ago after mounting the grill from Flat Top Bobs (Owens Salvage). So Flat Top Bob found my fenders and grill that I've been looking for. I went and got them and it's been almost 3-4 weeks getting every thing to line up right and mounted. I've already had it out a few times trying to make sure I s**** off just the right amount of tin every time I come up the driveway. Yesterday was actually the first day I settled on the "stance". Although I had it all bolted up and driving last week, I had to pull it all down again during the week to starighten some stuff out. Got it all remounted yesterday. Looks like we're heading to the Roundup like this. w00t! Still a lot to do but it's getting closer every night. It would probably be a lot farther along if I would stop putting it back together every I time I want to drive it. Only to take it apart again. This has been fun. I can't believe how many man hours I have in this car just since I parked it in November. I've never been a pro at this and I have a tough time admitting how hard this stuff actually is. This has been a humbling experience for damn sure. It's my first hot rod in years and the first car I've pulled completely apart and rebuilt to the best of my abilities ever. I have to appreciate that I wouldn't have gotten this far without this website and without the "finger pointing" advice of some of the members here when I've met them. Thanks
*****in pict from the front, hope my 36 dodge truck look's as good when I get it on the road. Also do you have any link's to any dodge parts.
Thanks for the feedback. Although I liked it "a little bit" without fenders it's really the wrong year to try to pull it off without a lot of mods. Now that fenders are there though.....w00t!
Man what a change some fenders can do to a car. Looking a good, You have done a great job on that Coupe. Keep it up. I cant wait to see it at the Roundup.
Looks a lot better with the fenders IMO. I had a 38 and I just love the overall contour of these late 30's Mopars. Keep us posted!
I dig the new fenders too. I didn't like it without. Was wondering if you were planning on any kind of running boards, or are you going without?
Looks much better with the fenders. Kind of gives me hope for the '37 Plymouth coupe in the garage. Take a victory lap around the block for me!
Looks much better with the fenders. and i love it without the running boards. A friend has a 37 plymouth coupe. i LOVE the stance you have it on. man it sits nice. ~Aaron
looks great with the fenders... helps to cover up all that messy coilover stuff up front. it would be an interesting year to run fenderless, but it would need a straight axle and mods to the front cowl (esp where it implies where the fenders are supposed to be)..
Post some pics of that Plymouth! Those make awesome hot rods. We absolutely intend to put some running boards on it. I think it looks "more unfinished" without them. They'll really tie the front and back together. The hard part will be all the door t******* that will have to be done. I can make the running boards and mounts with no problem.
I'm not so sure it will make it to Austin wearing flat black and yellow wheels. I may have to break with what is becoming somewhat of a "tradition" a****st unfinished cars and hose it with a color other than Krylon Semi-Flat Black. That will depend on how busy I get this week though.
