And the p*** door is now done too. Stoked to have made such great progress this week. Today is my daughters birthday so no car projects for me. Back at it on Thursday which will be final prime before wet sanding and final paint. I moved the DeSoto over so I can now roll the truck out of the garage and start prepping the jams, dash and around the windows for paint. Then a whole bunch more after that I don't want to think about yet.

Final prime is on, wet sand tonight then color coat this weekend. Its about time. Door will be two tone, bottom half red, top Wimbledon White. Hoping my clear comes in today or I'll have to wait to spray.

Final wet sanding done on the 62 Ford Unibody "Monster Hauler" doors and the first color is on. Wimbledon White is laid down, tonight I'll spray the red and then the clear. Then I can start the re ***embly. Looking for some of the inner door panels if anyone has a set they'd like to sell. Color.jpg Wet Sand.jpg Wet Sand 2.jpg Wimbledon White.jpg Color 2.jpg

The pics do a poor job of showing the clear coat but they look really great. Once the truck is put together and I get to take pics outside it will really shine.

Getting started on the Monster Hauler front sheet metal. Making it straight. I've started using Tamco Paints high build primer surfacer. Really like it, sands very nicely. I used it on the doors as well.

A few pics, more soon on the rear suspension build for the Canned Monster. I'm also getting some work done on the monster hauler truck too. The Canned Monsters front suspension is pulled out to paint the frame/firewall then final re***embly. @JGFabrication is getting it done. The Monster will be displayed on Saturday at the Ventura Nationals show, drop by the JG booth and check it out.

Color and clear going on now. I knocked it back with some 1000 grit last night and my cut and buff kit is coming from All Star Abrasives. Next is 1500, 2000, 2500 and buff. Good times ahead.

Looking at getting the truck's seat done very soon. Something like these. All read though, cloth center and vinyl outside so they will breath. Don't want no sweaty ****, vinyl are notorious for that. Right now mine is bare bones. Getting quotes now, can't wait to get this back in the truck.

For sure I had the latest greatest "new" vinyl seats done in my 1955 Ford way back in 1965 and after the first drive in hot weather and no A/C my **** was swimming in sweat. Regretted getting it done ad sold it soon thereafter.

After 600 plus miles traveled this weekends the Monster is back in Modesto. Still much to do but glad it's back home.
