I need ya help and a new turn signal switch for ´49 Lincoln (9EL)! Where can I get a new or functional one? I spent many hours, to go through the internet and there´s nothing! Which different parts (Ford/Mercury/Lincoln) could I swapping? Any ideas? What happened: At first, the left brakelight won´t do….so we checked all with the ohmmeter. Finally we found the turn signal switch as the problem. We opened it carefully, as I read here on the board, but it broke into pieces. A lot of clue and crossed fingers…..and so I have brakelights at least. No turnlights in the back…. Many thanks from over the big pond.
Here is a new one. It is for 51 up, but you might be able to make it work. http://dennis-carpenter.com/turn-signal-switch/p/B5A-13341-A/
I have gone through this on my 51 Ford. Your switch looks exactly like my Ford one. I also have some 57 Ford stuff and ended up modyfing one of those. It mounted up just fine and has been working about 8 years now. Wish Carpenter had there New switch back then. This 51 wears around $3-K in there parts and we are both real happy. The Wizzard
If this switch fits, then I have to cut off the black plastic on the side of the switch. I think, I´ll try it.... The T-bird switches (55-57) looks like my one. Knows anybody the different in basic functionality?
