    Tadda!

Are you still going to use the previously shown turn signal indicator plate?

Yup, that's the plan but I'll prolly incorporate it into the new [not yet made] header panel above the windshield.

34steershafts.jpg 34steerboxshafts2.jpg I've been working as time allows. Made up a pair of frame sleeves to mount the vega steer box and welded 'em in. Mounted up the box [trial fit] and fab'd up the steering shaft with it's U-joints. I'm about 25 degrees on the u-joints and I welded them to the shaft...slowly with a lot of time between s***ch welds and a couple wet rags to help cool the u-joints. Ran the steering from lock to lock..........turns sharp [don't have the stops in place yet] and smooth. One less thing to do

Only two joints, no carrier bearing needed.

Screwing around to see if these old truck headlights [903J's] would work. I hooked up my trusty battery charger and turned it to 6 volts...Viola! The ****og amp gauge on the charger says it takes 10 amps to light 'em up! Amazingly, both bright and dim filimants still work after all these years.

I did a short video of the engine running with my smart phone to post it here but it won't post Prolly just as well as the audio didn't transfer when I sent it from my phone to my computer video file. ...Guess I'll have to go to the suggestion forum to get some direction....If somebody has the capability to post a video here, I'll be happy to send it to your email address.....

Mostly winterizing daily drivers, raking leaves and I scored a new summer driver...the very same 80 Malibu wagon I bought from my brother [Jangleguy} some years back and sold...it's mine again.
Began stripping the body to remove it from the frame so I can finish weld all the frame brackets, boxing plates and paint it..
Body will be stored at my son's garage 'till I finish the ch***is. Here's a nice photo of my old 47 caddy with me and Janglehead in about 1972

You look like Angus and Malcolm , or actually more like the Hanson brothers from "Slapshot". Great pic, love it.

Finally!!!!! I've been feeling like **** for months...since I last posted here Sept 20th last year. No energy, sick all the time blah blah...well, I got so sick of myself being sick I just HAD to do something-anything on my coupe so I flashed down to Speedway Motors and scored a 30 inch [which is really 27 inches long] panhard bar and a couple rod ends last week...didn't even take them out of my trusty HHR panel for a week and tonight I decided to do a little fab work. Made one end of the panhard bar mount...the one that will weld to the bottom of the left frame rail. The other end will be a simpler pair of ears that will weld to the inside surface of the right split wishbone. This bracket is a nothin deal but I carved it from a hunk of 3/16ths 1.5" square tubing with my torch, cut-off saw and various grinders and files. Drilled the 1/2" hole in it and viola! All it needs is a going over with a 3-M disc and a good chamfer where it will weld to the frame.
I hacked and gagged, blew my nose 23 times and even sat down once to watch 10 minutes of "Cops". Maybe if I can find time tomorrow, I'll finish it up and make the 2 ears for the other end of the bar.
BTW, check out the gennie early ford thru-bolt with a real ford castle nut and a cotter pin....ol school, baby!
