Just picked up this old gem. The women I bought it from is in her 70s and she said it was her grandfathers farm truck. He bought it new in 1948 and only drove it 7 years then parked it. Then I came along 61 years later asking about it. Next thing I know I'm taking it home. Motor still turns and every nut and bolt is still in it. All the wheels even turned making it "somewhat" easy to pull out from its tomb. image.jpeg

I love the pilot house trucks. They're under appreciated.
How'd you come across it? What's the other truck that was next to it?

Haha I acually got my shots last month. Good call though. It was a nightmare in there.

My neighbor bought a 32 Sedan from her lot as well. I told him I wanted to bag an old truck on M&HRacemaster he remember the old dodge being in there. The land was her grandfathers. Glad I grabbed it.

She's got that 59 Chevy, 42, chevy pickup ( tree took out most of the body, 51 olds, a few other old cars I really can't remember.

What about the Olds? Might be a good project for someone.

It would be. The problem is the floors are shot (not a big deal) but the big thing about moving it is that all 4 wheels are locked in it. Took my friends rock crawler to pull it out and it was a struggle for it. Hate to be he one to move it again

Thats a 57 olds 4 door hardtop and it looks like someone tore the barn down and left everything that was in it sitting.
Was the 32, a ford? wish you had gotten more pics of the others just for the heck of it.
    Good luck with the dodge!

Just to let you know in case you hadnt already picked up on it, the talk of rat rods are discouraged around here along with 20s etc. We would love to see your progress but dont be surprised if anything non traditional is severely frowned upon or even gets a thread shut down,Ya might want to check out the forum guidlines and only discuss traditional aspects of your build.
Anything that could have been done before 1965 pretty much..... Back to regular scheduled programing:D......Was the 32 sedan a ford?

haha thanks for the info. Still kinda new here. It's a 32 Chevy sedan. He really didn't care that it was Chevy. Just wanted a car to work on with his son.

The whole truck is really solid. No rust holes. The bed is kinda falling off but nothing that a few new mounts won't fix. I'll snap a bunch of pictures over the next few days for you guys. The plan is which Isn't to bad is to chop about 4" off it and bag it. I want it dumped to the ground. All right up my alley. As far as drive train planning on doing a LM7 swap with a Jerico 4 speed and a Crown Vic front subframe and ford 8.8 or 9" rearend. Before all that we have to box the frame.

First thing was first. Had to but a bomb in her before I tucked her in the garage. image.jpeg

Hosed off the whole truck including the interior. Removed the seats and washed it all down.

    Dude, do like I do, when you are posting, say whatever you want, just go back and wherever "rat rod" appears just replace it with "32 Ford", wherever you would write "20" steelie", just subs***ute "M&H Racemaster", instead of cobwebbs, "NHRA sticker". It's easy, watch;

I drove to the newsstand to get the latest copy of " '32 Ford " Magazine, through the "NHRA sticker" etched on my windshield, I saw my friend Deathface driving his " '32 Ford ". We both did a simultaneous smoke show right there in the parking lot, our "M&H Racemasters" squealing, all the senior citizens were coughing and choking, it was awesome!

See? Just like that, I got these guys fooled till Sunday! They have no idea....

Nice find. Just so you know, the Crown Vic front is about 6 inches too wide for that truck. You will not find wheels that will get the tires under the fenders.

Personally I would keep the straight axle and forget about that air bag ****. Just my opinion. I would also forget about that 5.3 electronic nightmare and go with a 360 mopar with a carb on top. Again just my opinion. I am ok with your Ford rear!

I agree. First thing is first. It need to be rewired. Not to bad. Needs new brake shoes in sure. Brake pedal is stuck to the floor. And I'm sure the carb is shot. I want to get it running and driving first before anything else

http://p15-d24.com/ is where you want to be go for info on getting it running and such. It is the go-to site for Pilothouse Dodge truck owners. If you decide to alter it, you will be able to sell the parts you take off there, as well.

look for a 77 up Plymonth Volare - unbolt the sub frame and bolt/weld it in along with the 318 if you wish.....nothing wrong with those mopar flatheads though.....good save !

Thanks I'll have to check them out.

Planning on getting the flathead running soon enough. Probably won't do a motor swap for the next year or two. I'll be boxing the frame and notching the rear for the axle so I can lay it to the ground. The front is where I need to do some reading up on.
