If you were going to paint a 52-53 ford two tone where would you cut the paint at the drip rail or at the belt line molding (just bellow the gl***) getting ready to shoot mine Orange and Cream and do not know which would look better here's a shot of the Omaha Orange the cream is a Indian color
My plan is to paint the drip rail the color of the window frames. Hopefully, that will make the roof look just a bit lower. My middle color will extend to the trim line, but it is a 56 so the trim is different.
The painter screwed up and misplaced to paperwork and painted the belt line up Chrysler Vanilla and I thought ladyhrp would have a stroke, he thought it looked great,I told him it made the wagon look like a chevy, repaint it before my wife sees it. HRP
I plan to scallop it kind of like this one the main difference will be color of course. The roof will be the same color as the scallops I have the trim for the fender and door off 52 merc it has a point at the front instead of the custom line emblem I will run 1 scallop the same location as the front spear then one near the bottom of the door in stead of 3 as shown and also kept the one on the top of the fender Across the hood run 2 c shaped (Ruffle 2" thick at the front 3-4'long tapered at the end this car was done like I d do flames I will kept the rear as shown but pick up an extra scallop along the rear fender trim PITURE ARE BARROWED FRON PAT DURKIN
See if you can find some pictures of 1952 and 1953 Fords maybe that will help. The 52swere painted to the belt line and the 53s were painted to the drip rail. But, it still remains, your choice!
