It's this weekend........any of you guys planning on attending? If all goes well I'll have my '57 there. I've got it all re***embled except for color sanding, buffing and installing the hood. It needs a really good cleaning and final polish, but baring any disasters, I'll be there, posibly Friday and Saturday.

Went to it one year in Fort Worth. Thought it was too expensive.

Yeah, to be honest I'm having second thoughts...getting short on cash and I've got to renew my insurance in October.
Goodguys non-member show registration fee is 70 bucks I found out last night!! My car is good on gas, but it does like the expensive stuff, so add 100 bucks or so roundtrip for gas, another 60ish for food and drink, 100ish for motel....so an easy 350-400.
On the other hand, if I take my dd and just do the spectator thing, it's a wagon I've got set up for sleeping, so no motel room, 29 mpg on regular, so gas will be less, 20 bucks for the show, etc.
Some of the guys here in Amarillo are talking about going to a show in Dennison on Saturday, but I couldn't find anything on the internet about it...anybody know anything?

Great place to eat, especially the catfish. My personal favorite is his steamed catfish. My wife prefers the fried. We make regular trips to Austin ( grandkids) so I eat there at least six to eight times a year.

I decided...screw it, I may be broke all of next month, but I'm heading out for the show Friday about 5 or 6 am...with the '57. Should be there early afternoon. Got the hood put back on today...except for cleaning the car, that was the last piece of the puzzle.

I'm not traveling much with the Ford yet, taking longer & longer rides though, so I won't be there. My car is not pretty like your cars, but it is fast.

Got back late last night. Great great show. Okie...I looked for ya, but my old age memory couldn't remember what your 2nd vehicle was, so I could only look for black 40 coupes.....so if you were there, I'm guessing you brought the pickup. I parked on the gr*** Friday, but in the large asphalt 1st lot on the left as your going in on Saturday. Turned out I parked next to a group of guys from Amarillo I didn't previously know, so now I've got some new local friends. That was cool. One of them kept nagging me to sell my car to him...he had brought some cash in case he saw something he wanted to add to his collection. He kept telling me he was a Mopar guy, but wanted to add my Ford...offered 35K in cash..."100 dollar bills and you can drive it home, I'll pick it up at your house".
    Thanks, but no.
On the over-the-top subject of cars...I'll bet there were at least 2-300 cars that had upwards of 120-150K invested and a handfull that were probably upwards of 250K...certainly out of my league, almost depressing to look at, they were so masterfully done, lol. You spend 10 years doing a build the best you can, then you see these no limits masterpieces by true master craftsmen and it just makes you want to crawl off and sneak out before anybody sees ya.
That said, with all the positive comments I got, I had a great feeling of accomplishment on my long drive home last night. Heck, even the cops that pulled me over because I had a tailight out were telling me how much they liked the car.

I was in my 40 coupe Rich. Friday and Sat I was parked across from the special parking lots against the fence backing up to the swap meet area. Down towards the auto cross area. I saw your car Sat in the big lot, tried to post a picture earlier but my recent change to Windows 10 has got me flustered. Two guys there talking then one opened a door, ***umed that was you. Waited awhile then moved on thinking I would catch you later but by the time I got back I didn't see you around. Sorry to not meet you. Hope your trip was good. What was up with the coolant on top of the motor? Really like your 57.

Sorry we missed each other. I think there were too many cute ****s walking around for me to keep focus when I was walking around trying to remember to look for '40 coupes.....I did keep seeing another one with billet wheels and spinners that I think was the same one I was asking about earlier this year at the OKC NSRA show.
I hadn't noticed any "coolant on the top of the engine", with that said I just when out and looked and my coolant is low, as it was before I left, but I haven't been able to find any leaks. I did see a concentration of coolant droplets ****tered around the radiator cap, so maybe I need to go to a higher pressure cap. It just has a 7 lb in it now.
Did you see anything other than drops of coolant, like a puddle somewhere?
I had just done the final buffing on the car the day before I left, and did not have time to do much detailing. That engine compartment is the worst of it...a real mess with overspray, dirt, etc.
I've got windows 10 on my new computer that is set up right next to this one, but this is where all my photos are, so until it dies, I'll keep using this one. When I have time, I'll install some photos on the new windows 10 one and give posting them a shot.

Just saw some droplets, cap is probably the culprit. No billet for me, just good old Torque Thrusts.

well, I just downloaded 600 pics to this windows 10 computer...let's see if I can post one....
seems to have worked pretty much as I was doing it in the old computer. If it worked you should be seeing the Dodge Phoenix with the Ford Coyote drivetrain.

this one was originally sized at 3.96 mb. I resized to 50% on both ways to 1.44.
I don't know what the Hambs' restrictions are for size, but even still at 1.44 it still posted.

for those experiencing posting pics problems....
resizing, if needed, is advised before you try to post, so find the pic you want to post and right click on it, then from the dropdown menu choose "open with", (not open) then choose "Paint" from that drop down menu. When Paint opens the picture, on the top toolbar towards the left side is a resize ****on...click on that. Choose the percentage option and change the 100 in the top two boxes to 50. (more or less than 50% depending on the original size. Just make sure you haven't made it too small before saving, as you can't go back and make it bigger or restore) That reduces the pixel count in both directions by 50%, click the red X ****on in the top right paint screen and click on save when the box opens. If you do not want to permanently reduce the pixel size, chose "save as" and rename the new version. That will save both the original and the new sizes side by side in the original folder.
If a pic is sized properly, just click on the "upload a file" ****on on the bottom of this window, find the picture you want to load, then double left click on it, and it will load here.

Just a note....when you click on the "upload a file" ****on on this window, it is setting up a path for the download to follow, so stay within the windows that open up progressively as you click ****ons. In other words, don't click on the upload a file, then the windows programs and files ****ons on the bottom left of the main screen to get to your pics...you've interupted the path it's setting up.

I've found the easiest way to post pics is from a smart phone. My computer is ancient so posting pics from it is impossible.

BTW...Okie, I replaced my 7# radiator cap with a 13#, and also tightened up the locking tangs on the new one so it fits much tighter. Hopefully that'll solve the problem. Thanks for mentioning that...I was looking everywhere except around the cap until you mentioned you saw coolant on top of the engine.

It did...put about 100 miles on it this week and the coolant has not dropped at all, and no new spray anywhere. Now I've got to get back to finishing up cleaning the engine bay.
Chickasha swap meet this weekend! Not sure if I'm going....insurance renewal has got me kinda broke, and there's a new car show in Canadien, Tx. I may go to on Saturday.
