I'm just throwing this up for the folks coming to the show. We have a bunch of magazine cars from the 50's and 60's coming that haven't seen the light of day in decades, some that won in our shows as far back as 59, as well as the Polynesian. It is all pre 64, and all three arenas are booked solid. We're doing Friday as well this year, April 7th, 8th and 9th. If anyone has any questions, pm me and I'll be glad to help you out. There's a few Hambers cars coming, so I figured you might need some last minute stuff. Looking foreward to seeing you.

I'll be there Saturday with the guys from the club and probably some guys tagging along from the Akron/Canton area. Looking forward to seeing all those cars that haven't seen the light in some time.

It's looking like quite a few. We just picked up one more you might like. It doesn't have a name but it's a 57 Ford Custom 300, candy red and gold, and was a cover car on Custom Car? magazine in 58. It's pretty wild and in nice shape. Anyways, glad to see we have the Slick Devils, Spinners, and Road Hounds coming. It wouldn''t be a show without you guys. We've got a bigger outside lot now so if your friends with hot rods are coming down too, they'll have a place out front to park them.

    Kevin,

If you like, you can edit your ***le to include Cleveland, Ohio so people will know where the show is located.

Hey Kevin, how much room will we (Slick Devils) have for our club display? Do you have a floor layout so we can figure on how to display or do you have each car space already picked out? It wouldnt be a show if it werent for your clubs outstanding efforts. Were just happy you will have us!

  9. Is the 57 Ford the one built by the Egyptian or called the Egyptian? I think it is from Ohio. Be sure to get pics of the time capsule cars for the peons that can't make it to the show. Congrats on your club's 50th as well. Pat.

So Kevin - Does "Pre '64" mean '63 and earlier or does it include '64??? I'm right at the cut off and wonder which side of the line I' on.

It sounds like it's gonna be a really good show - I am looking forward to it.

I'll be there on Saturday & Sunday. I got the bucket just about road worthy. Look for me if you want some info about the Rock & Race at Dragway 42 in July.[IMG]

Thanks, Fordnutz. I don't think the Ford has a name, but I'll be sure to get some pics up after the show.

Sure. It's at the Soccer Sportsplex in North Olmstead on Lorain Rd. For more info, check out cruisintimes.org. There are 3 arenas inside that will be packed with rods, customs, and vendors. There's a model car contest as well.

    Don't sweat it, Bill.
If the weather is decent, there will be as many cars outside as inside.

I did hear they had to turn down alot because they were full up.

We're going to go up and hang around.

  24. Hey Gang . . . I'm new to the Ohio area and have only been to the GoodGuys show in Columbus (where I live). Sounds like this Rod & Custom show is worth going to. Where can I get the details? Would be fun to meet some of the Ohio Hambers and ponder Flatheads, Early Hemis, customs, rods and all that stuff. Somebody please PM me!

Sorry JMAN, the address is 31515 Lorain Rd. N. Olmstead, Ohio 44070. And, yes, we were swamped with entries this year because it's the 50th. One thing's for sure, there are lots of rods that always come out and park outside if the weather is decent. Come on out and have fun. If we didn't have room this year, shoot for next year. We always ask entrees to wait a few years after they've been in so we can keep a fresh bunch of cars coming in. I forgot to mention, also coming are a few cars from our first show back in 1959. The Roman Holiday, the Candy Angel, and a beautiful Deuce that are all still as they were then and owned by their original builders/owners. There's also the Gypsy, and Red's salt flat record holding, blown flathead powered 40 Ford Coupe. I doubt you'll be dissapointed.

Yes!!!!... to all of you small scale builders bring somethin to show. This is the first time in a long time that Choppers has included a model car contest.

I'll be around all weekend helping with the contest.

I'm thinking about throwing the A' back together enough to take advantage of the Rod Parking...

Is that soccer place across from Quaker steak and lube and Hoggy's or is that a different one?

It's the complex right at the Lorain Rd. exit off of I-480, west of Hopkins Airport. When you get off 480, turn right. It's there on the right. There are 2 inexpensive hotels there and a few bars and resturaunts. This is also near the Rt.10 exit for the turnpike, whichever is easier. Don't forget to bring a couple bucks for the flamed refridgerator, antique pedal car, and big stainless steel roll-around tool boxes that are being raffeled off. There are also 50th Anniversary Choppers Show shirts, printed by the Wizzz, available as well. See you there!
