Wonder if they weighed that deuce before punching the louvers and then again after it was done. Just kidding!

  6. Now there is a good example of "just because you can doesn't mean you should".

  7. Louvers won't make it any lighter. Louvers don't remove any metal. You just make a slice, then stretch the metal that's there. The holes in the frame will make it lighter, if they're not sleeved.

When I saw the drawing, it brought a smile to my face. When I saw the pictures, not so much.

I'm usually one that likes just about any hot rod with louvers and if they are on a deuce roadster all the better but I just can't warm up to this car.

Good exercise......and good rule of thumb don't miss:eek:.
I guess these are no doubt home made dies
which makes one think that there are very many deviations in louvers.
You are in control of design which adds to the personality of the work.
    Nice work Marshall.

Esthetically it looks a little off...function I suppose it would funnel air onto the engine promoting cooling. The airflow would be altered...maybe even better but at a cost. The elements (rain) would get in bigtime defeating part of the reason of having a hood. No for me...;)

Pumpman thats a nice looking Hotrod you have on the go there. Did you find that hood done like that. Your idea? If so what was your reasoning? Curious minds want to know...
