Sorry guys, I am not familiar with the flat head engine or with pistons for that matter.

A friend has a 1952 Nash statesman with what he calls a flat head, I ***ume the flathead engine is the same style for Ford?
My question is, are Flat Pistons used for that engine? I thought I read somewhere that you use domed pistons for the flat head.

any help would be appreciated. Here is a picture of the pistons I am talking about

It varies. Same as OHV engines. What is up with the second post?

Sorry about the second post. I wasn't sure the pictures came up - So are you saying that these CAN be used with the flathead?

Sure. I used flat top pistons in my Plymouth flathead. Depends on the shape of the ***bustion chamber and compression ratio desired.
