The common ground is the members of both groups are heavily populated with "older guys". The implication is that as nature takes it's course the organization(s) are at risk to fade away.

My first hot rod in my avatar at age 13, my Dad was a mechanic, car dealer, and mentor. I am able to stay in the game by my brotherhood car gang dudes in the South Omaha Turds with some great support by my Los Punk Rods crew in Kansas City. A few small health issues but hangin tough to keep improving my girlfriend truck Verla Kay, she is a cowgirl delux that stays in the pack as we hit the road for events. Seeing my brothers Rob Lee and Dick Warsocki build amazing hot rods keeps the energy pumping. More cool rides in the works that will be on the road by next spring. Life is good in the hot rod world of the S. O. T.'s, 73 is just a number as folks previously stated, rock n roll hot rod pals.

Turning 72 and still building chassis and selling parts. My philosophy is if you quit in a short while your name will appear in the newspaper!

I check the paper every morning to make sure I'm not mentioned. Still waiting on to-day's paper. We had 15"-16" of rain yesterday so there are plenty of obstacles before I get it. I'm lucky - still have power though it has flickered off a few times. Had a small leak around the chimney. Sun is out today but a lot of clean up & road repairs before we're back to normal.

Keep building, Gary, I made need another of your chassis before I make the paper (75 next Tax Day).

  13. Yea, I understand the implication, with us older guys.
If only there were enough younger guys out there to carry the torch, in honor of the old metal, which is so sacred to us.

    From what I observe,
Old age doesn't last very long for many..
