I enjoy looking at the models you members build. I recently found a large box full of model car boxes from the late 1950's and early 60's that I bought as a kid. They include some cars and many parts. Is there any interest in items like this with the modeling community?
We always need more stuff (it's our addiction). Show some pictures of what you have and offers and PM's can be exchanged by the interested parties.

Some more detail painting on several of my ongoing projects, here's a Revell '59 Chevy. Airbrushed in a 2-stage base/clear-coat touch-up acrylic a long time ago. The metallic green is an Alfa Romeo -color.
..And something I had to discover regarding the Revell-Monogram '59-60 Chevies. I have several of these I've collected over the years. All painted and detailed, just not assembled. Started assembling the Cameo Coral '59 Hardtop. Turns out the chassis would not seat all the way down w/the assembled interior in place, leaving not only the molded-in rocker panels fully visible from the sides, but an unsightly gap as well. After carving out the bottom edge of the windshield and heavy sanding of top of the inner fenders, both the top of the chassis assembly and the interior bottom, as well as the rocker panel area of the chassis plate to no avail, I came across a thread on Model Cars Magazine forum, where this very predicament was discussed in detail. It was suggested sinking of the dashboard further down the side panels would cure this issue. So I removed the dashboard, and cut the suggested 2mm vertically off the kick-panel area, and roughly 1mm parallel off the slanted mating surface of the door panel and the dash, moving the dash backwards. The side panel area ahead of the rear post of the vent window area had to be trimmed also. The green convertible in the backround illustrates the original location of the dashboard in relation to the top of the cowl. At this point, I got to this, the top of the firewall was even touching the bottom of the windshield panel now. This will do, time to move on to fitting the suspensions and finishing the rest of the brightwork.
Appreciate the tip Sauli. My 'lil swap meet wagon got red paint on the wheels and '32 Ford hubcaps. 1964 Dodge A100 update. After a major paint fail and paint stripping, new weather stripping and a light sanding she'll be ready for primer once again.
Finally got my summer project done last week, and was able to take it to the races Saturday to show it off to the car owner and crew. So happens they were making the first passes on the car after repairing it after the crash at the CHRR last October. And the test session was a success.

A few OT ones really. A 66 nova that was 1/25 scale that I combined a firebird prostock in 1/24 scale. Engine looked awesome shoehorned in there. I got a nice out of the box 49 Merc that I like, but can't upload into this thread for some reason. Well, not from my phone.
For some reason, this kit bedeviled me as a 12 year old. Throw a couple of decades in the mix and I finally got around to building the Rat Packer again.
I have to get another one of those rat packer kits. I built one years ago. put in heaps of work on it, the most detail I'd ever put into a kit up to that point. I came home from work one day and found that my son who was about 2 years old at the time had gotten into my hobby room and re arranged my model display. Some were broken but the rat packer was missing completely. I searched for days but never found a trace of it. I do still have the original box hanging in my shed though.
I finished this; A Lindberg '61 Impala. Box-Stock mainly; paint is OEM '61 Chevy "Arbor Green" 2-stage acrylic basecoat-clearcoat by Dupont. I combined the kit-supplied black-wall bias-ply tires with a set of gloss-black steelies out of an AMT '58 Impala for that early-muscle car -look.
