    I had a m***ive heart attack on 10/1 about 9 at nite.

I did an alignment on the Ford at a friend's shop earlier in the afternoon and it put me over the edge.

Drove myself to the ER, parked and went inside. Coded right when I was being checked out stabilized me and ***embled the dream ream and did a triple byp***. Kept me in a coma until 10/5 and brought me out of it slowly.

The first 2 days, I could not pick a fork or even write. My typing is slow, but the motor skills are coming back.

Went home yesterday without killing anyone on the way out. I have a nurse that will show up a couple of times a week and someone for PT. Priorities for the day, shave, floss & brush and I hope a shower. Everyone else has seen me naked so that's okay. Paid a bunch of bills on line and went through my prescriptions, do nix valium and oxycodone at the same time!

So I'll be checking in n0w and then as I gain strength.

I'm happy you are still with us,it could have been much worse, glad you acted fast and went to the ER.

As far as being seen naked at our age who cares, when I had surgery on my shoulder I had to prove I could shower before being dismissed so ladyhrp helped me in the sit down shower in the hospital room and 3 nurses from 20 to 50 years of age watched, there is no such thing as dignity in the hospital.

Try not to take too much pain medication, the heart attack is bad enough but blocked bowels adds a lot of pain. HRP

Spending most of the day getting my disability claim together and trying to get the PT and nurse people in here. Got some good scars going on.

Any doctor or nurse said I'd be dead if I had not acted so quickly. I would not have survived the ambulance ride. Popped 2 aspirins, grabbed my license and medical card. The hospital is pretty close to my house, 5 minutes.

I need to go sit down and my typing really ****s, but I'm able to write with a pen nicely the last day.

Wow...I was wondering where you were the past week or so...was hoping you were on a cruise ship somewhere and just didn't want the world to know nobody was home.
Glad you made it, now put priority on taking care of yourself.

Good thing you didn't delay, most of us would deny there is something wrong until it's too late. Get well soon.

Thanks all. I had a guy at work a few years back, age 61. Came home early with chest pains and talked his wife into him going to the doctor the next morning, except he wore up dead. Moving slow so far today and the nurse should be showing up. I have a portal into my account at the hospital so I can check anything like medicines or appointments.

The car is running but on a back burner for improvements.... no lack of offers to drive me around in it.
Taking it slow today, too aggravated yesterday. I did grab a shower which was nice.

Doing better than I expected. Got some help to close up my pool which blew the afternoon. I just supervised and cracked the whip. It was nice to be outside for a while. Feels better to move than just sit around.

I'm doing okay, chest is still sore where I was cracked open and I see the surgeon tomorrow. I was able to walk around at a car show for 2 hours on Sunday and been doing odds and ends on the Ford.

I got the hospital bill... $274,000 to keep me alive. I owe them only about $550 and some odd doctor bills that are coming in.

Glad to hear. It amazes me what the hospitals charge. My dad had a heart attack several years ago. A 20 minute helicopter ride was $5000 then. I'm sure it's close to twice that now. As bad as the charges are it's still better than the alternative .

I can't complain really. I was almost maxed out on my out of pocket for the year anyway. Looks like the bulk of the bills are in and comes to less than $1700, of which I have to contest $900 that appears to not have gone through my insurance.

Spent all of Thursday sorting through my avalanche of paperwork ***ociated with my recent medical escapades. Filing, shredding, sorting, making notes.. but I'll call it done for now. Paid a few bills online and by mail. I'm fortunate in getting a full salary at work while I'm out.

Really good news is that I can legally drive again, the surgeon looked me over and said I'm good to go. I have to put straight plug boots and terminals on my spark plug wires before going too far.

Just take it easy and before long you'll be doing what I did yesterday and today...drove up into the mountains of Colorado...900 mile round trip. Man, my '57 just loves those mountain roads, lol Too bad I live in the flatlands.
