I just purchased flights, tickets and accommodations for the race at Pismo, took a few extra days. What other events, attractions, party's or shop tours might be going on in the area? I know there is a swap meet in Pomona, anything else? Peterson's is on my to do's I'm sure like others i don't shut the shop down very often so better make the most of it. PM me if you have something you may not want to fully broadcast. See you there!
Pomona is a ways from Pismo and IMO it isn't near as good as it used to be and not worth the 200 mile drive each way. For something non car related take the brewery tour at the Firestone Walker brewery in Paso Robles and have something to eat in their adjacent restaurant. Only about a 45 minute drive or so.
Hearst Castle is up the coast a few miles. You could always rent some quads in Pismo/Arroyo Grande and hit the dunes. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Sitting in Pismo beach now at least at the motel. A few rods and race cars in the parking lot and a nifty sunset from the back parking lot. I came to the motel first and didn't go down to the beach when I got here. This place is a bit over 200 miles north of LA and a serious days drive south of San Francisco. It took us a little longer because we went out and hit Highway 1 and drove it down with a lot of scenic photo stops and a half hour stop at Hurst Castle gift shop. It takes a while to get anywhere and isn't like most of Idaho or Eastern Wa where running 70 miles for a beer and burger is a nothing deal.
Cool you got the Mr48chevy. Please report back tomorrow with pics and news for people that are heading up Sat morning.
Made one stop after finding our way threw the LAX fiasco, and then headed up to Santa Maria, pretty well killed the rest of the day.
Yeah we were there all day, the rest of the event is canceled due to weather so we are headed to Pomona swap meet tomorrow.
Hi Rotten Thanks for your pics and that all Black lakes mod I guess, that one is very nice I don't know what you call that body style with no tail and a long cowl but they sure are slick looking Is a real shame you got rained out, DND
I think we may have been standing beside each other when you took the photo of the 15 car with the gent sitting on the rear tire.
