Was there a couple of months ago...although it's a bit more "fancy" that it was before, I loved it... There's a lot to see and read there... Enjoy!
The outside is uglier than hell. I have a free day in LA next Monday may stop in for a bit then grab lunch at the Farmers Market
I went in June, and had a great time. A little bit of everything on display. The 30's art deco cars were amazing.
Same here i could spend all day at NHRA museum . Nothing wrong with Peterson just not into nicey nice stuff. Depends on what kind of stuff you like
Worth it! The old exhibit was very dated. It's pretty amazing now. NHRA is always great as well. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'm a docent at the Pete and I like the new version very much. Don't expect to see a lot of hot rods or customs on the 3 above-ground floors; the total is only about a dozen. There are about 20 more in the vault (ba*****t) but that requires an additional $20 admission. The excellent exhibit "Rolling Sculpture" closed last week (mostly '30s French art deco cars). It will be replaced with "The Art of Bugatti" which opens October 23.
I've been to the Petersen before and after the redo, it is MUCH better IMO, the vault tour was first cl***, and well worth the additional fee. Seeing two cars I once worked on in the Grand Salon was like seeing two old friends I hadn't seen in 30 years, well worth a visit. The outside lets you notice were you are, thanks to everyone that makes this museum work. Bob
I like all kinds of car museums (and 99 percent of all other museums for planes, trains, trucks, ships, lunar modules, guitars, etc.). Loved the previous Petersen (it's next door to the invisible Peterson) and would probably love the new version, too. But it's a long way from FL. Why don't the muckety-mucks at the Petersen create an East Coast version and send all the pay-double-to-see cars gathering dust in the ba*****t out to the Right Coast if you can't display them properly? Gary
You've got the Collins Collection and Don Garlits Meseum of Drag Racing, now you want half of the Petersen? Bob
