Love it! (What year?) Check out the sheetmetal on that tailgate!

There are 5 burgers on the grille, but only 4 people. Dad gets two!

Look at the size of the burgers! Look likes meat loafs. Car is either a 58 or 59 I think.

Looks like a 1958 Ford wagon. HRP

Yep...58. I'm sure glad advertising folks have gotten better at making things no so posed. So many things wrong with that photo, but that's part of the nostalgia I guess.

Growing up in the 50's myself it really was common to see scenes just like this,my uncle had a 1950 Ford woodie that was used just like that the beer and soda were packed in ice in a big blue metal Pepsi cooler that I still have.

During the 50 & 60's most of the automotive advertisments were illustrations and not photographic images. HRP

If modern families spent more time together like they did in the 50's instead of their noses in phones maybe things wouldn't quite be so, shall I say, screwed up.

You got that right,I honestly think I was raised at the perfect time in history,I had both parents at home and although we didn't have much in the way of material things I had a great childhood and we did lots of riding in a old '52 Ford Courrir. HRP

After I got my wagon one of the must haves was a vintage cooler. Picked up a Pleasure Chest locally for decent money. Now I'm on the hunt for a picnic set.

It would make for some interesting photos to set the tailgates up for a picnic or loaded up for a road trip or camping trip. HRP

Yeah, I'm looking for one like that, but want red and white to match my car, will probably just keep my eyes open for a good deal. I also want a cooler/picnic basket to hold all my tools, jumper cables, etc.

@56longroof we saw a picnic set that hung over the back seat at a car show once, that is what my wife really wants.

Thanks @JeffB2 that is a good deal, probably a little to shiny for my old wagon though.

My Pleasure Chest looks just like the Pepsi cooler Jeff posted. Except mine is red with white letters and is not as shiney. Just the way I like it.
