I would like to know what the name of a certain type of electrical terminal is. The type I am talking about is a rectangular pieces of metal with a hole (or slot) in it that wraps around the wire. The best example I can think of is the terminal found on the end of a lead on a regular distributor condenser. Also, does anyone have a source?

    Thanks

Boy! That was quick! Thank you very much. The name makes a lot of sense.

  4. Or female spade terminal. Any autoparts or electrical /electronic place should have them. There are several sizes, measured across the "male" part.

Thanks, Johnny Gee. 'Bout time someone knew what they were talkin' about!
Hope guys read this and see which is which! Applications abound for all of these terminals.

I bought a flood of connectors from a source about 8 years ago, they had everything. Sold in lots as small as 5...
I lost the 'connection' when the last computer gave up, really liked the product, terminals had copper coat under the cad finish, thick material. Soldered nicely, and covered well with shrink.
Some terminals are terrible to crimp, even with a serrated Belden tool.
(I have several makes, but the Belden is handy for most) Those terminals were the best.

Well I'll have to admit that I saved that one and it will go on the wiring page of my photobucket album with a nod to Johnny.
I used to have two big green boxes of wire ends including Rajah loop spark plug wire ends that I sold out of at swap meets until some guy came along and offered me more money than I thought both were worth. Had a number of those ends in one of the boxes.

I thought terminals were the discussion, not 4 pin connectors. ;)
