These are some pics I took of some cars and trucks in a gulley located a few hundred yards from mobile bay in fairhope. There used to be a gm dealer on bayview st.east of the gulley and I guess it was an easy way to dispose of unwanted cars/parts. I have more pics but this is all I can fit on here now,I'll try and post more later.
recently I was in a gully taking the front bumper off a 50's pontiac and i fell forward and landed on some gl*** 2 s***ches and permanent nerve damage in my right palm I guess the morale of this story is be careful in the gullies guys lots of broken gl*** .
put em on egay local pickup only and make the big bucks call em anything ya want lottsa ****ers out there
The gulleys in fairhope are all public property so I don't know what the legal aspect of salvaging parts from these cars would be.They might be considered historic so you couldn't take anything. Most of the sheetmetal is pretty rusted but there are probably some usable frames/parts.Here are a couple more pics.
i used to poke around in the river valleys in bloomington minnesota, suburb of minneapolis on the minnesota river, one spot right over the bluff, was a 55 olds, 56 savoy, 49 ford and a 55 nomad and remnants of others so gone i couldnt tell, not much left of any of it cept i think a flathead that was all one solid piece of rust by now. i took pics ages ago, but my scanner is down...sorry. still got the emblem off the back of the nomad on the shop wall, spent a good day diggin it up when i was a kid.
i went on vacation lastyear to Oklahoma and found a field right off the highway with about 15 cars rusting away, 2 40 ford p/u's various 50's cadillacs and others. Damn gr*** was waist high, wasn't gonna get bit to look at earlier bodys there.Owner of gas station across highway lot says their for sale... Yeah, wonder what he wants for any of them....
