    [IMG]Here's mine: a '63 with a 454 BBC/dual quads/turbo 400/narrowed 9" with 18" wide Mickeys.

It's a long way from being finished, body work & paint needed.

    Thanks,

    Jim

did you really need the sticker to proclaim the fact or do you thik that the huge rear tires was enough? That is almost as cool as when a billet mobile has a grill emblem that says "streetrod" or "supercharged"??????

Could be a cool rig though.

I would like to see some build pics, if possible, and some of the rear frame section. Neat truck, but the rear tires are a little too big! LOL! Thank`s

I was actually going to do that with my '66 Single Cab VW and my 392 Hemi. Would have been a fun project, but I've taken both parts of the equasion in different directions.

[IMG]I liked the Pro Street Decal - but it has to come off as I'm adding a tailgate and bed cover to the truck.

Here are a couple more photos:

Translation: "Traditional" rods are the new trend and we're a bunch of snobs.

That truck is **** because of the width of the axle (too narrow) and the size of the meats on the back (too wide). "pro-street" is sooooo '80's. Like its uncool daddio. The HAMB is about traditional rods and customs....it also accepts (begrudgingly) early 60's cars and "g***ers".

If you only would have left the axle wide and ran a set of chrome reversed wheels with cheater slicks and painted the truck with some metalflake... the HAMB would accept you.

Now for what I have to say:

Cool machine. I sheepishly do tend to agree with what Tman said though.....and my made up translation of what he said.....

But at any rate, from what I can see of it, that machine is cool. I would want the bed of my econoline to look the same (If I had one). Meaning someone walks up to it and goes "HOLY ****". haha.

Lets see some pics of the rest of the truck. I'm interested.

That's your opinion, Tman. I've been a rodder for 40 years; my first rod at age 17 was '47 Ford Coupe with an Olds engine, then a fad T Bucket with a blown hemi, a 32 Coupe with a 409.... a lot of pre-48 cars, and have now started working on Pro Streeters. The Econoline is one of 3 Pro Streets in my garage, I also have 2 Falcon Two doors with 460 Fords in them. I also have a '57 Thunderbird being restored, and an '81 Delorean with 10K actual miles.

Now none of these are old school street rods, but some might qualify as g***ers..and I'd bet the Econoline with the mountain motor would blow the doors off a lot of cars -- I know it will smoke those Mickeys, and haul some serious ***.

I haven't been a FNG since 1966 when I was ***igned to group.

  11. Davvet, yer missing the point, man! Pro Street machines are about as interesting to us here as a rice pudding. We're about old school rods and customs, with the odd g***er or front engine rail thrown in for good measure. Your Mickeys might impress them at other forums, but they dont mean squat to us.

How about a full side shot of the little truck. And also how about the falcons, got any pictures of those? You have to excuse me for being econoline deficient but did the motors in them originally mount in the very front under a hump like the early chevy vans? I persume that they were small inline 6s, is this correct?

Personally Pro Street became a joke about 5 minutes after it got popular in 1990. I like picking on pro street cars with wheelies bars at cruise nights, because 99% of them are always slower then my late model Thunderbird with a 10 in tire and usually slower then my roadster with a 7” cheater slick.

This place is not a general car forum and while some people may say we are elitists, the HAMB is specifically aimed at Traditional Rods & Customs. Plenty of people here are into different types of cars as well but they take care of that fix on different message board and there are plenty of them out there, whether it's Yenko, Gremlin, or Pro Street.

Who cares, your truck ****s, I hate it.

  23. So I guess we're racein'. I won't make you face serious, I'll run you with my Push truck. The altered probably won't be done by august anyway. See you at MOKAN, but you might consider getting an old beater to tow that rig with. :D

All har***ment aside, I like chit like that once in awhile. So don't take this the wrong way, its cool in its own right, it just isn't patterened after the purpose of our board. Short of going into the whole preachin' thing we are all about trad rods, g***ers included, and customs.

'66 was a rough time friend, makes me glad I was born a couple of years after you. I gotta respect you for surviveing, now its time for you to do so once again. Improvise, adapt and overcome friend. You no doubt have a lot to give to the board.

Do those same feelings apply to pseudo-g***ers?

I happen to have a soft spot for "fastest street car shootout" type pro steeters, but I think that if you have tires 10.5" or wider, the car needs to be in the low 9's (if not faster).

As for your Delorean, with just 10,000 miles on it, it's probably because it's too embarrasing to be seen driving around in it.

Though you could make a good barbeque grille out of all the stainless and a hefty boat anchor out of the fabulous V6 Volvo engine.

Nice truck. I like it and would like to see other pics of it. Pro-street is not my thing but I still appreciate the work and p***ion someone puts into their ride. It's a little outside the normal HAMB kind of thing, but so what.

I think its funny that several people on this board have the exact same vehicle...

Coup de Cab has one for instance.(yeah, not pro street though)

You guys are ****ting on this fella because of the width of his truck's rearend and the wideness of the rear tires.

I think its pretty thin reasoning. Sometimes I'm ashamed of how people **** on others on this board. This is one of those times.

Sure the "pro-street" sticker kinda puts a bad spin on things....I agree. Maybe the interior has tweed in it....I don't know. Maybe this guy is going to paint it pastel....I don't know that either.

All I can say is I HOPE NOT. :D :D

I think this truck could be cool. I mean its not like we are looking at a "PRO STREET" Camaro or something.

I'm waiting to hear the plans for this beast before I make any decisions.

I do know that if I had this truck, it would get a wide rearend...some fat cheater slicks and the nose raised up a foot or so. I'd also consider putting some pull truck zoomie headers on it...straight up. I'd paint it shiney black or maybe white with some panels.....
    Maybe flames....

I don't know fellas. I just think there is potential here....

    But, yeah....

The words "pro street" and the HAMB is like oil and water. It don't mix.

    'Thin reasoning'??????

The tires are fat, the truck is very minutes ago, I'm an unreasonable ***hole with a big mouth.

The truck ****s, and the guy's approach ****s even more.

It would be like knocking on the front door of a Tupperware party announcing very loudly that you have, "some terrific Avon products for sale, please can I come in?"

    It don't make sense.

But I am a having a good laugh over the whole thing, so it wasn't a total waste of time.

    Hey Nads,

Yeah I see your point with the PRO STREET proclomation in the ***le.

Guess I'm just looking at the vehicle itself......and I'm looking with my rose colored g***er gl***es on. I see potential in the vehicle. It sparks my imagination.

    Thats all.

EDIT: also, I really like the guy's avatar.
