Hot Rods Should i trade????

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Bruce Fischer, Nov 1, 2016.

  1. I have a fellow that wants to trade a 1956 Chrysler Windsor{has the 331 motor} for my Olds non friendly station wagon.{1971}I said I would never let my wagon go but I sure do miss my 1956 Chrysler windsor that I sold a few years back. I saw some pictures of it a while back but cant find them to post now. The motor and trans were rebuilt 8,000 miles ago. It needs paint I know but thats no big thing.I will check that out to see if everything was rebuilt. Its a 4 door too but that's what I want for the grandkids. What would you guys do?? Thanks.Bruce. Heres a picture of the Chrysler Windsor I owned a while back. Justin022.JPG

I just don't understand why people post questions like this? What has my opinion or anyone else that you have never met got anything to bear on your decision? Just decide. Whatever you want. Its not like choosing where to eat for dinner.

Sorry if I sound grumpy. I am in the middle of sanding my truck and I am tired.

I agree, and we didn't even get to see a picture of the car he is thinking of taking on trade.

he wasn't asking what he should do, he is asking what we would do and i guess the reasons to do it or not.
i am a gm guy, but that chrysler is cool enough to trade for.

  5. If I were you I would make sure that you understood how to fix it, what ever you own.

Big difference from 50s to 70s

You still have the Buick wagon, and want a Windsor. Plus the Olds is a non-car in my world, so I would send it down the road.

I would trade. You miss the old Windsor, time for another one. And don't worry, the '71 will become available again at some point!

I'd say if you have to ask other, the answer is no. I'd much rater have the 56 Windsor than a 70's wagon of any breed but that's just me.

I like Bruce, he can ask any question he wants. In this case he's asking for opinions because he respects ours. If he cares what I think at all, I'm honored.

he's posted lots of pics of himself and his rods with his bellbottoms , sideburns and polyester shirts (that he wasn't wearing to be ironic). Not his first barbecue.

That being said, I think it's a great idea, if you think it's a good trade.

New projects keep up alive. They keep our brains happy. That will keep your soul healthy.

    I'm all for it, Bruce!

  15. I'd do the trade.
    I'd rather have a ****py Hemi, than a nice 70s Wagon. ;)

The Chrysler will turn a lot more heads and get a lot more thumbs up going down the road than almost any '70s station wagon so I would make the trade if the Chrysler is in good running condition. Please post a pic of it immediately if not sooner. Good luck....

  28. Thanks Clunker. The only reason its hard to decide I sold the Olds wagon 12 years ago and found it a year ago sitting in a garage{it had been sitting for there for the last 10 years} falling in on it and bought it back. Its been on the road now over a year. But I used to get more likes with the Chrysler Windsor and that baby use to FLY down the interstate. Plus if the deal goes through .I can be a H.A.M.B. friendly guy on here again.LOL. Bruce.P.S. I had more hair back then in that buick picture..LOL.

I guess I'm the only one that digs the Olds wagon. A Hemi on the other hand? Hmmmmm. Flip a coin. Still hate to see the Olds go.
