Up early this morning, dusted of the Merc & the Pontiac for the drive to SEMA. Got lucky and found 2 parking spots @ the SLS on the 1st floor. Not crowded at the early hour, lot's of new stuff to see. Just hope our legs hold out for the next 3 days.
I saw some photos on someone's web page, some nifty stuff and some scary stuff that looks like it was scabbed together for effect rather than function
Oh yea! Been once myself, flew to LV, It was right after air travel resumed after 911 and even though the vendor displays were down somewhat; this was quite the spectacle. I'd recommend if you get invited, don't p*** it up, the car stuff is cool too.
one stop that you should make is at Booth 12161 / Sonax CarCare of Germany to see the newest beauty from John D'Agostino "Rita" - '58 Packard
A buddy of mine puked in his shoes one night after SEMA and some hard partying at NYNY. I don't have pictures of that either. Probably a good thing. donno,
I just got back late last night. I've been going since 1992 and have watched the show grow exponentially. This was the 50th anniversary of SEMA and it seemed that everyone that ever attended came back this year, dead or a live. The dead ones stood in the aisles and in front of the cars I wanted a shot of. I got tired of taking pictures of partial cars and parts with mostly bodies, arms or blurred somethings in between me and the subject. Bangshift and other sites have good shots taken in the early morning or late afternoon when the crowds were gone. Other than that, it was an outstanding show. I'm looking forward to next year already.
