A dually slicked rear!! Now that's 60's style...

I liked the workmanship and the overall concept until i saw the rack-n-pinion... now it just bothers me.

Hope it never gets a flat rear tire..

I like the side profile. dislike the rear tire/rim combo.. needs more then one carb... would be a fun ride.. could scare the **** out of you...

  15. It's got its own style...

I think it's *****in' just the way it is. Very original and innovative design, but you know instantly that it's a hot rod and an evil one at that. It has the kind of character that Cotton Werksman's Ardun T had all those years ago.

Why do we think it would be improved by subs***uting parts that would make it look like an older car or somebody else's design? It stands on its own merit. Greg and the car deserve respect just the way it was built.

  18. Just my 2 cents.....

This thing is waaayyyyy outside the box, appearance-wise. The econoline was cool but not unique in its presentation. This thing looks like something Roth might have built. Econolines, although not typical, are still sorta common. This car probably wouldn't be so well received if it wasn't so fuggin' cool.:D

I think the car is a perfect mix of cartoon style of imagination : street rod, traditional and crazy drag car. I like it , its outside the box with a traditional feel.

    Hey guys,

I've known Greg for a while now and have been able to watch this car come together through the years. He made the rearend, a lot of the front suspension components (the pictures don't show it but the front spring towers are curved with lightning holes, they're awesome), the windscreen, and on and on.

If you care to, you can check out some more of his stuff on his site.

I don't think anybody is disrespecting Greg or the car. Also "improve" is subjective. I think this car could go many ways and it is interesting to see peoples ideas and interpretations. We all play with cars and make them how we want. I know that I will never have the fabricating ability to ever come close to duplicating it, but is fun to see people's take on a new concept.

Yeah, that A tub he built a while back was definitely cool too. I think he used to build (and race) top fuel snowmobiles!

What do you think about the way the roof lifts up? I'd love to do something without doors and a roof, and maybe this is the way? Anyone have any practical experience with this type of set up?

I've seen this car in person at his shop. It's unbelievable. Wait until you see the car he's currently building. Makes this car seem like a beginners project. He's a really nice guy and does this work out of an oversized two stall garage.............. slim

This guy's been off the hook for a long time. Always kool stuff, traditional or not. I often wondered what he and Scott Sullivan have been up to lately. Sullivan used to be credited as the guy who began the "Pro Street" thing and did do some pretty innovative things in that arena of hot rods. Anybody know what Sullivan's doing these days?

  30. So here's the deal. Yes, the body is almost 100% aluminum, and at the time he started the car Hoosier was the only company building tires that size. I know this is said alot, but the pictures don't do this car justice. You have to realize that the tires are only 33 inches tall and the rest of the car isn't much taller! Greg (the builder) is about 5'8" and has got to weigh about 200lbs. and can sit quite comfortably in this thing. He did things like put the master cylinder behind the glove box, and have the floor bolt right to the frame to eliminate hat channels to conserve room, and sectioned the oil pan to get more ground clearance. He is the nicest guy and will happily spill his guts on how he does every trick he knows. It's nice to see how many are willing to appreciate the craftsmanship and innovation on this car even though it's not everyones cup 'o tea.
