Hi- My name is Rich and I am new to the site. The reasion I am here is I want to try my hand at chopping my own car. I herd this site might be able to lelp me. I have never tried body work before but I have tried almost everything else. I built a 41 ford coupe hotrod back in 1985, then a 52 chevy business coupe in 2000. I did everything except the bodywork. I even baught myself an industrial sewing machine taught myself how to sew and upholstered the 52. I picked a 37 chevy coupe last year and I am about to start on this one. This one will have a big block, air ride etc. The first thing I need to do is learn how to chop the top,do bodywork, lead work, etc. I am going to retire in 10 months and everyday will be a saturday I hape. I am only 65 and I am planning to live to be 127 and a half. Now if there is any one out there than can show me where to make the best cuts to chop the 37 let me know. I have gathered a good bit of information so far but I need more before I will be comfortable. I am planning to go to metalmeets and school if needed for all that I will have to learn for this project.Rich (FROG_PONDS)
Rich ...welcome from another PA hot rodder. Now that you've done your intro you may want to post your queastion on that chop on the main board. Not everybody looks at the intros. Another thing. Not sure if you want your full address in your profile. City and state is fine. The people on the HAMB are good people but bad people could be lurking and see where you are. Clark
Rich, welcome to the Hamb from another pa new guy. You should be able to find more info for your chop on here than anywhere else, and just about any thing else you want to learn. Good luck, Jim
