Local Ossie car ran a Hemi, as street registered and ran 9sec 1/4 in the 70s until written off in an accident. The owner who doesn't live far from me also has his former AA/A Fiat topolino back in his possession. It is being rebuilt with the 392 hemi out of the wrecked car along with all the old Vintage speed equipment. from his shed ..

    Hello,
Talk about a mean looking and powerful Fiat…The race for Top Eliminator usually went through several classes for the final trophy. The Colburn Glaze Coupe races against Cyr and Hopper at Riverside in 1959. Full bore in the dirt to try and win…power and extreme loudness from that coupe. It was a very impressive display of racing. It also looked like it would chew off your leg, too. That is called, "attitude." This race car made life hard for the FEDs at the So Cal race tracks.

But, sometimes after running so hard…things happen….Colburn Glaze explosion at Lions...

These two look the same but are different cars built by the same guy.

Some awesome Fiats posted on this thread......
No one has posted a pic of the Rucker, Seivers & Petrie Fiat yet. It was one of the cleanest looking of the early altereds. Right up there with Davis and Ingram, and Ratican, Jackson and Stearns for being a legendary racer.

  14. I can't believe this is the only pic i can find of this car...it was the fiat that booked me when i was akidfigures pic won't load up here

This is mine. I will get round to building it one day I guess. I bought it from a Swiss junkyard years ago and sold off all the running gear.

my boss grew up back east in the late '60's he used to tell story of a friend who raced a fiat on a '32 ford frame with a monster Olds engine & straight tube axle....
what about keeping them but moving them forward and up a bit on the body? would take some real metal skill but that iconic grille would really cool recessed like that and still keep that signature aggressive stretched front end
