Look up the term "the real deal" and you will find a photo of either Cam Grant or a car he has built. I went to P-town many years ago (with cash in hand) to buy a deuce. There was a guy there with a car Cam built, I reeely wanted it but he wasn't having any part of it.:(

Cam could walk by my car and "hockalugy" on it and I would shake his hand.

Funny! I have had an EVIL respiratory infection for about a month, just getting back on my feet now. I was walking with my daughter the other day and hacked up a monster. She asked me what I just did, and I told her I had "hocked a loogy". She went nuts, thought that was the funniest thing she had ever heard, its her new phrase of the week now...

:confused:Twenty plus years ago, my memory wants to say burgandyish/maroonish, most definately not black. Funny thing is verde, I think he was from AZ, but maybe SoCal.
I do recall a conversation as to how they had tired of an open car due to not being able to escape from the sun, and had been looking for an enclosed car but dd not want to sell until finding the new car.
    Did I pass?

Wasn't meant to be negative. I really like it , I hope you find a buyer for it. I had just showed the ad to a friend before your post to see if he had any interest in it.

No Problem, I like it too, just have too many projects here and need some space. Thought I would offer it up, Lot's of interest but money seems to be tight. May have to build it myself.

  23. It's not from the '40ies, but '51 (according to IMdb), but I say- if it's good enough for hepcats like Huey, Luey and Duey, it's good enough for me!

Me too! Especially if you have a family. They are rad!

  27. You got that eh? I had my eye on it, but just couldn't swing that kind of scratch together. I'm pretty damn jealous. Let me know if you want to trade bodies for a 34 pickup cab and bed :D

    What are the plans?

Edit: I just saw the further correspondence. Did you buy it off Kijiji, or are you the one who had it listed there?

  28. Anyone have any idea what those taillights are off of? Or are they a custom piece?

I have a good friend that has a '23 tub that he refers to as his "older brother". His dad built the car a couple of years before he was born. It was on the cover of Hot Rod magazine in the first year of publication. It has a V860 that was built for it when his dad built it. Louie Senter built it and it is still in the car and running strong. For those of you that don't know, Louie Senter is the "Sen" in Ansen Automotive and just passed away at 95 this year. Pat Ganhal featured it in his book "Lost Hot Rods". The car is a '40 ' s time machine and still on the road today! The car is older than many reading this post so my reply to the title question is absolutely!
