  2. I thought it was older because of the different hood. I've seen newer photos of the Jolly Dolly and they have the hood that in the older photo that was posted earlier.

  3. Yeah, the scoop didn't last too long. Then, it was back to the original hood. If I ever knew, I've forgotten the reasoning behind the switches. Bob's good friend, Rufus Boswell, ran a very similar '39 Chevy sedan. Perhaps, there was a follow the leader thing going on. I dunno.

this IS NOT the one from my childhood,BUT my father's company always had a most grand company picnic every summer, and one of the attractions was a "straight job" crosley fire truck like this one that took us kids for rides around Potawatomi Park in St. Charles,Ill...
not articulated like the ones being discussed...

also a merry go round,a trampoline park,a pool, always a ride on a paddle wheeler boat up the river and back....practically unlimited hot dogs, bbq beefs, candy, gum, ice cream,etc......and always a super nice goodie prize for everyone.....one year the boys got a steve canyon helmet,i still have the little diebold safe ,girls frequently got some super nice doll...I recall all of us spending up all the coupons end of day,and returning home with the Studebaker jam packed with cracker jack,gum,etc......

    good times!!!!
