I don't mean to beat this topic to dead but I might as well I'm here.

    Ill try to be short.

Equipment in order from start to finish: Gas tank,Fuel line, Gas Filter,Electric Facet pump, Fuel line, 1-15PSI gauge,Holley Regulator 12-804 1-4 PSI, fuel line, fuel filter, Fuel Log 1 line in 3 lines out, 3X2 Stromberg 48's, Ford 302 small block. Also have 2nd 1-15 PSI gauge @ first/furthest carb out.

Problem: Fuel pressure before Holley regulator 6-7 psi.. Pressure out at fisst/furthest carb 4PSI and drops to zero.

Here is Holley instruction sheet and I had my system set up almost exactly like figure #2.
And yes I had it set-up with a 1/8" copper byp*** back to the tank.
I was trying to get rid of pounding noise of the Facet Pump and constant fuel pressure but I couldn't.

Yes I know the 4PSI is high at the carbs but I wasn't flooding and had bigger fish to catch.

I called Holley tech support 6-8 months ago and told the exactly what I have just told you and the sent me a new shiny chrome regulator. I installed that baby lickety split and have the exact same problem I had before.

I called Holley Tech support again today 11/14/2016 and the Tech tells me "You can't run that 12-804 1-4 Psi regulator with a byp*** like our instructions show. You need a byp*** regulator and we don't make one for the 1-4 psi range"

    NO **** BAT MAN.

So now i'm putting the fuel in at the bottom and feed out one side and put my gauge on the other regulator outlet.

I was just so overtaken by his knowledge I forgot to ask if I could run a byp*** since I have it plumbed already so I can stop that FFFing banging!!!!

Anybody have an idea or suggestion for a byp*** or should I call the brainiack back?

  3. What is the make/model of your inline 0-15psi fuel gauge? Is it liquid filled or no?

They are liquid and I believe they are fine. I hope to be good after I get it plumbed up like Holley suggested.

I'm trying to figure out how to run a fuel byp*** line to get a steady fuel pressure and free the electric pump from dead heading.

    You got any help?

Aeromotive A1000 Carbureted Byp*** Fuel Pressure Regulator.

    Part # 13204

Convert from fuel injection to carburetion, and use your EFI fuel pump.

Designed for the Aeromotive A-1000 fuel pump, this regulator will also work with any similar EFI pump, delivering seamless
volume at perfect pressure, right to your carburetor. Base Fuel pressure (with vacuum/boost disconnected) adjustable from 3
    to 15 PSI.

Note: EFI conversions will require a larger return line than stock/existing EFI for proper, low pressure control.

    Regulator Features:
    * Perfect for any application from the street to the track, naturally aspirated or supercharged.
    * One -10 AN inlet and one -8 AN return port with two -6 AN outlet ports and 1/8" NPT gauge port.
    * Stainless steel vacuum boost port - ideal for turbocharged or supercharged engines. Fuel pressure rises on 1:1 ratio with boost.
    * Byp*** design provides the ultimate, dynamic fuel delivery system. Requires return line from bottom of regulator to top of tank.

I run Holley byp*** regs on a few cars currently. OP, pay attention to this page of your instruction manual, the return line needs to be the same diameter as the supply line and 3/8"s is recommended, not 1/8th. May be an issue, not sure but I know I have had no issue but installed per the instructions.

I may have erred rjones35, I ***umed it was since the OP is trying to lower the PSI with a return regulator. After re-reading he only said it was an "Electric Facet pump".

Hard to say about that facet pump! Sounds like all he needs is a different regulator and maybe different gauges, or different positioning or something. Aeromotive regulator 13222 would be the one to use if it doesn't need a return.

I have 6-7 Psi before the regulator and 4 after the regulator @ the carbs.

I want a byp*** to keep fuel flowing so the pump doesn't Dead Head. That way I should get better control of the fuel pressure. I need the 12-804 with the low 1-4 PSI regulator if I stay with the Holley regulator. The 12-804 is not a byp*** regulator.
