You might want to figure out where you are going to put the front shocks. Chris50 built a 50 ford and ended up using Shockwaves on the frount because there is little room for a conventional shock with the control arms and wheels being so close to the frame.

the front bags should have their own valves... you can tee the rear.

Word. If they don't have sep. valves, your handling will suffer pretty significantly...

How about gauges to know where you are. And the lines to hook them up.

Depends on what you want, the bags, compressor and line all sound good but I'm not sure about the 4 smc valves, are they 2 way or do you need one for up and one for down, are you just doing front and back adjustment or side to side also? I know you don't want a dancing low rider but it is nice to have side to side adjustment sometimes. I had this buddy in my truck one time, I had air ride, the boy weighed like 400 pounds, no lie, that side to side adjustment came in handy. You know who on the HAMB knows a lot about this though is "evil1" I think he also has a website twistedimages.com.

  8. I WAS THINKING OF GETTING SOME GAUGES SOMEWHERE ELSE TO SAVE SOME BUCKS....BUT I'M GONNA JUST GET THEM FROM THE SAME PLACE I'M BUYING THE KIT.

if there is no room for a shock up front you could run a slam specialitys bag.and would be good with no shock.also you might consider running 3/8 line in the rear to slow it down a bit.and 4 valves 1/2 line to the front if you can aford it.gauges are good so you know your ride hight.

go with 8 valves. with how much body roll these cars have it would be a good idea so that you don't get the side to side roll with a tee. also you should look into a bigger sway bar for it. you should be able to get one from jamcosuspension.com.

If you have the room, I would get a larger tank. I had a 3 gallon in the back of my wagon, and it drained way too quick. I added a 5 gallon to the front and joined the lines. Much better now.

Ive been considering a simular set up in my shoebox. I was looking at running eight though. The SMC valves seem really good. The SMC VX2 poppet valve looks to be the one. Id be keen to see some pics as you go.

I have bags front and rear in my shoebox (it's a 50 too). Do you have the stock setup still or are you using aftermarket or clipping other front and rear ends? Here are some pics of the front and one of the rear (I have yet to install the shocks)...

try www.suicidedoors.com , they have good prices and great customer service.

they have complete kits minus bags and fittings for around $600, add 4 bags and fittings and you come out under $1000...

You can get a kick*** setup from suicide doors. They have a little page where you can build your own kit and I priced a setup with 2 air zenith compressors, two chrome 5 gallon tanks, 8 200 psi 1/2" valves, a 9 switch switchbox, 4 slam specialties bags, 50' of 1/2" line, 50' of 1/4", 2 dual needle gauges,1 single needle gauge, and a water trap for less than $1500. I've got around $1600 in my setup & it's not as good as this. They have REALLY good customer service too.

  18. STOCK FRONT END.

  19. YEAH.... THAT LIST I POSTED IS FROM SUICIDEDOORS.

I have both bags on the front of my F-1 on the same valve ( T-off )...I have a front sway bar that keeps the lean to a minimum. I also have a rear sway bar that just hasn't been installed yet.

My front clip (full size ford) came with a sway bar. I'm not sure about a shoebox but putting on a sway bar, even one pilfered from the boneyard shouldn't be that difficult......

1/2" valves are pretty fast. Even with 3/8" ported bags. The only other thing I noticed was the Viar 400. Its a 33% duty cycle compressor. Id go with the 450. Its rated at 100% duty cycle. Filling a 5 gal tank, and 1/2" lines can be pretty demanding.

It would be better to ad another compressor to the list so that one doesnt have to work as hard

i have seperate valves in front on my shoebox and at times i find it a bit tricky to get the level just right, i.e. 'balanced'. it'll seem ok then upon a closer look one side will be up a little higher than the other. because of this i've wanted to T it so it's either up or down simultaneously. now i'm not sure... ryan, please explain what i should or should not do. i would ask vern at the shop but if i bring up such matters he makes me buy lunch. thanks.
