With many of us getting ready form Thanksgiving next Thursday will you be driving your hot rod or custom to visit with family or friends?

The HOTRODPRIMER homestead will be the destination for the Thanksgiving festivities for our family and a few friends so the only time I will be in a hot rod is a possible trip to the grocery store for that inevitable item we/I forgot.

I'm looking forward to the wonderful kitchen aromas permeating the house along with the mouth watering scent of smoked turkeys hanging heavy in the air.

I also know a lot of you will be celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday in Daytona at the Turkey Run....drive safely. HRP

Here in the Great Northwoods of Wisconsin, Winter finally arrived yesterday, small amount of snow here today. I did drive my Mercury last week, we had a beautiful Fall, mild temps and sunny days. Happy Thanksgiving ! to You and All. All of us should count our blessings, we ALL have many...

I won't be driving my hot rod on Thanksgiving, but I am very thankful that I am able to own, repair, drive, and enjoy my hobby. Blessings to all for an enjoyable day.

  13. I'm taking the grandkids and family, on a road trip to Virginia Beach. I customized an O. T. Short Bus to haul our vintage Bicycles, and a pedal car to pull the new baby in. So we will be having sea food instead of turkey this year. Maybe we can build a HOT ROD sand sculpture and post it for F.A.S. lol Ron...

  14. We are now in Ohio, in the snow ....... celebrating an early Thanksgiving with our grown children, 625 miles from our home in N.C.
No, we did not drive the hot rod, but being with the kids is a blessing.
    Happy Thanksgiving to all !

No, but I hope to get to work on it Friday and Saturday of that week. Might drive the wife's OT 88 Firebird Formula, but kinda doubt it. Figure we'll be in her Expy or my F150.

We have a long running tradition here in Central Maryland of enjoying a "Pie Run" that was started over 25 yrs. ago by some local hot-rodders from the Pasadena/ Glen Burnie, Maryland area. A handful of those guys decided one year to make an early Thanksgiving morning run in their cars to Galesville, Md. to a tiny little country store that sold home-made pies. There they could get out of the wife's way for a few hours, pick up a pie for dinner, drive their hot rods perhaps one last time before Winter closed in and hang with other like souls. Over the yrs. this affair grew exponentially and eventually became too large for the tiny waterfront hamlet, and the little country store closed as well. Now in recent yrs. the pie run takes place in Deale, Md and often draws upwards of 200 or so attendees. This was a shot by Mr. Lyle Willits from last year. Happy Thanksgiving to all. We are blessed to live in this great country. 044-vi.jpg

No hot rods on turkey day here. Put the sedan away for the season yesterday. It went from summer to winter pretty much over night here. X2 on the smoked turkeys HRP, and have a good holiday to everyone!

Sometimes I forget how lucky we are in the Sunny South that we never have to store our cars away for the winter months and are able to drive throughout the entire year.

Snow is rare and often gone in a few days in my area.

Whether I drive a hot rod on Thanksgiving day, and which one is dependent on the weather, the time factor as I'm eating at my son's house, and the '40 is in the garage there, and it may turn out to be a lot of trouble to getr it out with his backyard full of cars from other relatives, we'll see on that. If the weather is nice I possibly could drive BGII, my hiboy roadster IF I solve what ails her by then:eek:
Thought it was fuel system flooding intermittently, but yesterday I tore all sorts of stuff apart only to find nothing wrong there. Gotta put all that back together andthen check for some sort of on again off again ignition problem. Plus possible rain Wed and Thur. But as bad as we need rain here, I won't complain if it rains and I don't drive a hot rod:)

It is a tradition with me to get up early on Thanksgiving morning before sunrise and get the smoker heated up & ready for the turkeys.

Like Dave, I won't complain about rain,we desperately need it in South Carolina..I'll just watch the smoker from the dry comfort of our old Shasta..and with a drop cord I'll have my lap top. HRP
