Hey all. I was born David Buschow, but no one calls me that but my family. Everyone else calls me Bush. Ive been lurking here for a heck of a long time now. I think Chris Border turned me on to this site a couple years back. Its an amazing resource and the wealth of information seems to be never ending. I usually drop in and read a few posts at least once or twice a week.

Anyways, on to the basics. I got hooked on the car thang back in 95. I was a sophmore in HS, and my dad told me it was about damn time I got a job. Now, I lived in Colton at the time, and for the normal joe, theres two things you do for work when your a kid, buck hay and shear trees, neither of which appealed to me. My HS shop teacher got a call from a local body shop that same day, they were looking for a monkey, just someone to do the grunt work. At this point I had never worked on car, I couldnt tell one make from the next, but, sure as heck, it wasnt buckin' hay or hanging out in a tree field, so I signed up. Enter Finns Auto

I worked at Finn's Auto FX for a few years (back when it was just a 2 car shop), he gave me the basics. Taught me do it right the first time, not cut corners, and got me hooked on the car game. I quit finns when I got a scholorship to go to college, so I did computer science/electrical engineering thing for a year, but, turns out it didnt interest me, so i left school (dumb move in hingsight, but o well).

I ended up going and getting a job at NW C.A.R.S. in Portland, and there I learned a lot more wrenching. I loved working there, but the whole small business, sometimes the paychecks are farther apart than Id like thing, got a little old, so I left there for the grand life of installing custom shower doors and mirrors (its amazing the amount of people that have no problem dumping $1500-3500 on a shower door).

Ive been into old school customs and mini trucks since day one. I know the whole mini thing isnt the most well received genre on here, but Ive had a grip of fun, and met more kool kats in that hobby than anywhere else. Ive had 4 channeled minis, but none bagged. I dig the as low as I can go, and no hassles with the air stuff.
I just bought a 84 Chev crew cab dually that is gonna be my new play toy. It will be my first, and probably only bagged ride. Just something about laying 7000 lbs of steel on the ground at 65 sounds fun. lol. I have a mazda b2000 for a daily (the commute from molalla to Lake Oswego is enough to empty the wallet if i drove the dually).

I have a 55 Chev 2nd series that my grandpa bought new in Oregon City. Im hoping to tear into it after I bag and channel the dually. Im thinkin a fresh 6, and a 700r4, and some updated suspension (as low as possible) and it will make one heck of a daily (a small step up from the mazda).

Anyways, thats me. If you see an Altered states logo or shirt, ask if im around and say howdy. Id offer ya a beer, but I only drink the capt, so thatll have to do.

I guess I could post a few pics.
Heres my old car. I put almost 100,000 miles on it in 3 years. I dont give a rats butt about paint, so a fresh coat of DP was all she needed for a show. Had I kept the car, it was destined for some steelie wheels and some of those spun aluminum covers that jc whitney has.

and heres the daily, nothin fancy, just stock and lowered with the go fast goodies on it so I can actually do freeway speeds.

This is my old project that I started, and quickly lost interest in. Its channeled 3", and i picked the wheels and tires up for $400. I never got around to lowering the motor and getting Fran to cut down the radiator. It was lower than everyone elses that werent bagged, and thats all I cared about.

    And heres the new project.
