So my grandmother was telling me the story of how she met my grandfather back in the mid to late 40's and that he was driving a 38 ford. I am putting it on my list, but I don't know much about the models etc of things before the 50's. So I know you all can help. I know he drove 4 guys in his crew while working for Magnolia Petroleum. So it lead me to a sedan- showing her pictures she said it only had 2 doors and was black. Showing her pictures, I came across 2 different types of rears on the cars. One that was somewhat flat and one that sloped more similar to the coupes with the flow. She said it flowed smoother and was not a square rear. The only way I seem to get info is 1938 ford tudor sedan... what was the difference in back ends though? I am pretty sure it had a v8, but she doesnt know much about cars... so she just said she didnt care what it had. It was my grandfathers first car and also the first car they had when they were married. So just trying to find some information. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks, -Spaz
awesome, thanks! -- Def the Deluxe! Was there only one option for power in those, or was there a choice?
38 "Standard" sedan body is same as 37 humpback sedan bodies.. 38 "Deluxe" sedan body is same as 39/40 sedan bodies... This is a "Standard" 38 rear....
It is not the standard then. She said that is too flat from what she remembers. She said these pictures you guys have posted have made her think about the simpler times and has put an ear to ear grin on her face. So I think it was the deluxe then.
