First of want to thank everyone who is a part of the group this is a great outlet . learn something every time i log on, Im a new member so please bear with me . Recently purchased a cruiser to add to my fleet. here is the scoop 1963 failane coupe 260 punched out .040 over with mild comp can thumber seriers was .490 intakr .475exhaust. rooler tip rockers and hydraulic lifters .silvolite pistons, also upgrade valve springs with complete 3 angle valve job . motor seemed pretty healthy until this weekend , after about a 40 minute crusie down the highway . upon restart i started to hear a slight knock at idle slight throttle it goes away .btw the car only sat for maybe a hour so still warm . took it home . oil pressure and temp we good . cold the motor does not show any signs of noise after 15 minutes the noise develops . i can not tell if its on the crank or cam . seems like the front of motor tried pulling plug wires noise does not change . i am****uming its rod knock next step i will be pulling the plugs and pushing down on each cyl when its at tdc . my question is should i do this when the engine is hot when the noise is evident or it does not matter? oil is 10w30 with lucas stabilizer. oil pressure when cold sits right at 50 then as gets hot drops to 25 never really below that at idle . any input is much appreciated will try an post a video as well
